Changyu stopping him shows us the audience that she is kind hearted, and forgive easily. Xie Zhang's actions tells us that he is a ruthless person when it comes to protecting the people he loves, this scene also reveals to us that Xie Zhang already considers Changyu someone worth protecting with every bit of ruthlessness. He being able to stop at her commend tells us that she will be his voice of reasoning but also his weakness.

It's not about thinking ahead or that she's afriad of reprecussions.

ZYR is definitely a rare gem in a heap of mediocre idol actors. I hope he gets more dramatic roles like this. It's where he shines.

The concluded that he may have been the person because supposedly Wu Zhengyang was the only other person who knew where CP and her brothers were hiding. But the most sus is that Master Qi also knew where they were hiding.

I don't think Yuzhi father was in love with her nor was Brother Lei. I think it's just bad writing and bad direction. So far the only person I think was in love with CP was her fiance, Master Qi and Mu Zhengyang.

Yeah stupid plot hole. They are claiming he is "involved" in her death by ambushing her senior brothers, preventing them from fully using thier technique to kill Nie Hengshang. In which caused Cai Pingshu to go fight alone, forcing her to develop the forbidden technique.

I'm getting the vibe that her aunt was definitely betrayed by her own people.

I think ZYR is doing pretty good. I get a good feeling of who his character is. It's weird because it's not entirely his fault....a terrible direction can destroy even the best actor/actress...(Natalie Portman in the star wars comes to mind 🤣) I feel like acting is a two way street, the people around you need to be able reciprocate your vibe. In twelve letters, Yiran was amazing, so I know man can act. I think he doesn't have much to work with in terms of character and acting partner.

You are not alone. The editing is atrocious. As for the numerous characters it's normal for wuxia. But I'm still holding on because I like the characters. 😭

I'm hanging on hoping it will change my mind 😭💀 It's not like Heros that totally blew my mind with fight scenes. It does have it's charm...the umbrella fight was very nostalgic...and it could been pushed even more. I also didn't Ike how they reveal Mu Qingyan either. I also have a hard time believing the FL is Prodigy...maybe I missed where they explained it. 🤣

After watching seven episodes, I can say the biggest problem with this drama right now is that there is no real plot device—no clear understanding of the characters’ motives or what drives them to make the decisions they do. Aside from the choppy editing, the story just isn’t convincing enough.

I’m also incredibly annoyed that the acting gap between Yiran and Shangen feels like light-years apart. Yiran is obviously the more talented one, and he’s not getting enough to work with, especially opposite the female lead.

I’ll keep watching because I haven’t seen a wuxia in a long time, and I need to fill that hunger. C-dramas have been starving me of good wuxia stories.

Right...I can't focus because there is no clear plot device. We are just aimlessly watching this drama with random subplots.

I just finish ep 7 and I still don't know what's going on. 🤣 one minute they are saving some dude...and the next they are running away.
