so everything is fine but there is something that i dont get it, You've been rejecting the secondary character…
I don't understand where you are coming from? Her half sister's hate didn't stem from her unrequited love to Prince Li...but rather conditioned by her mother. you can tell that when she talks about Ye Li, she actually has very fond memories of her as a child.
Why is the title Mo Li when there a literal character in the show name Mo Li that’s not the lead ????
Moli is a play on words. Someone explained it somewhere... basically, it's a combination of the ML and FL name, also means only you (or something close to this), and in a different tone means Jasmine.
So what is Prince Li's backstory, book readers. I know they've changed his story from the book - but they said…
My guess is the crown prince was assassinated and the Prince Li was supposed to die on Lishan Mountain but maybe the academy helped saved him...that's why so many people have perished.
Ok...i am officially obsessed!...and since i cannot stop comparing the other show breaker, Pursuit of Jade, I…
The cinematography style in Jasmine is actually harder to achieve than POJ because most of it is natural lighting or mimicking natural lighting in the studio. Props to the cinematographer and the director for knowing where to place the camera.
wonder what is queen dowager intention in invitimg FL to a banquet and interrogating about her life up the mountain..she…
from the Chinese, the grandfather on Lishan Mountain is her maternel grandfather. So I assume, her dad and his family sent her back to her maternel family after her mother died of grief but everyone got murdered, and she was alone because her senior brother left to inflitrate the Ye family for her. Not sure if there's a brother He, if he's real or if he's a figment of her imagination.
Wow I'm on ep 4 and this is how you balance a ML in a FL centric story. I'm so sick of these FL empowerment stories where the ML gets deminished to a plot device. I hope the script and director keep this up. Finger crossed we don't see character degrading for the ML. Good stories needs good characters.
I think there's two girls, Qingyu and Qing Shuang? Qing Shuang is the illusion one. It makes me wonder what terrible…
I suspect they all have di d too. Because the place she was living at looked like it's falling apart and neglected for ages. Like her dad and the uncles sent her there not knowing how bad it is. But the emperor did say something like the if the academy didn't shuddered thier doors...I wonder if the whole academy fell from grace, and many people were executed.
The young girl who accompanies Ye Li, is she a hallucination or what ?
I think there's two girls, Qingyu and Qing Shuang? Qing Shuang is the illusion one. It makes me wonder what terrible thing happened to her maid that she would have illusions of her.
No. The direction and production of this drama are very low quality, and it shows. The story is mediocre at best.
By the way, the director is being roasted by Chinese netizens for his outdated and cringeworthy directing style. Even the casting director and makeup team haven't escaped criticism.
ZYR is overacting. It feels like he's being directed to project a grand, cool, larger-than-life presence, but neither his visuals nor his physical performance make it convincing. The way he moves, carries himself, and delivers certain moments feels forced rather than natural. ZYR is not a method actor, so the director needed to use his strengths and lean into his natural aura. In my opinion, the director failed miserably in that regard.
Compare this to his role as Mu Qingyan, where his portrayal felt believable. His shamelessness, dialogue delivery, body language, and subtle micro-expressions all worked together to create a cohesive character. Everything felt natural and in sync with the role.
POJ, at least in its first half (and despite the problems that emerged later) was still better both cinematically and narratively. There really is no comparison. And ZYR is a far stronger actor than ZLH, so it's definitely quite dissapointing to see him wasted in such a script.
I agree this drama has really good storytelling and good characters and thank God the director and writer knows what they are doing.
The director and writer both worked together on Love and Destiny, and Princess Agent.
