Have you ever read Shakespeare? Because if you did, you would understand what a tragedy is. TH meticulously wrote a tradegy, and disquised it as a "everyone gets what they wanted " kind of deal. Shakespeare comedies are dark commentaries about medival life and human nature. TH didn't write a comedy, but her novel delves into some deep thoughts about trauma and how it affects the human condition. It is only a happy ending those who think TH wrote a cheap romance novel/drama.

Have you seen Back from the Brink? FL is very straight forward and not only chases the ML, she saves him too.

It's a tradegy disquised as a cheap romance story. So if you love great character led stories, you will enjoy it. You will also enjoy it too if you like cheap romances. This drama does a good job of showing different kinds of loves--from unspoken love to childhood love.

The production decisions couldn't sell the show. So the marketing team shifted gears and started using YaoLiu and Xiang Liu to sell. I remember all the previews were predominantly YaoLiu and Xiang Liu. Haha!

LYF doesn't fit Xuanhuan either, there are no adventure/leveling to attain something with your own strength. CX journey to the throne nor XY determination to protect herself doesn't really fulfill this genre's unique feature. So I think it's more Xianxia than Xuanhuan, despite no clear bounderies between the realms of the gods, humans and demons, as they all are coexisting together in Dahuang.
