Depends on your definition. Some people would call it a bromance, others would consider it a BL. In my book is a censored BL. I'm 16 episodes in and there's very clear tension and flirting between two main characters that I simply could not pass as just bromance (understood in its original way, not the cdrama way ;)). However, there are no direct confessions, kisses, needless to say more explicit displays of affection.
Anyone else ended up with The On1y One OST on their Spotify Wrapped? π
Interlude by TRASH made its way to my top 3 this year (and my 2nd most listened to "song" is a frigging white noise recording I listened to to be able to sleep π so more adequately Interlude is my #2 this year).
Technically, Addicted, Stay with me and Addicted Heroin (haven't watched that one) are all the same story, while…
Certainly, The On1y One is a variation of that trope, forbidden love between brothers blabla (sorry, I'm not a fan of that premise, which actually puts in question why on earth I even watched 5 out of 6 of these titles you mentioned and, even more so, actually enjoyed 4 of themπ)
Still, I just tried to put in my "technically" comment in an apparently failed effort to sound uplifting and humours ;)
Looking at the other comments, I will be waiting for season 2 bc I do not want to be left hanging.
Aaaand that curiosity could be a good reason to watch it. Just saying ;)
If you're scared of a cliffhanger, you could actually watch up until episode 8 (including that episode). It ends with a semi-closure. It is also a very emotional journey and chances are its ending would have you in tears (good ones, not sad ones :))
But I'm gonna stop now. I don't want the convincing turn into pestering.
I think most of the brother types of dramas have open ending π π₯Addicted π₯Stay with me π₯The On1y One…
Technically, Addicted, Stay with me and Addicted Heroin (haven't watched that one) are all the same story, while The On1y One isn't really a stepsiblings story either.
Looking at the other comments, I will be waiting for season 2 bc I do not want to be left hanging.
Why? Come join us in suffering, I mean waiting for season 2 ;)
This drama is great, you will not regret watching it and since season 2 is not a certainty (ok, some people say it was confirmed, but there was no official announcement, so in my book that means nothing is guaranteed at the moment) if you wait for s2, you might end up never watching it...
And trust me, that would be a shame.
The cinematography is beautiful, the writing poetic, the acting top tier (the leads are phenomenal). I mean it sincerely.
That's ok, I know there's a lot of such stuff circulating around... I guess I will wait for the official (like the most official, the one that can't be revoked anymore π) announcement (to protect myself from too strong a disappointment).
Hey, you can't do this to my heart, I actually got excited for a moment there :( First off, if you have some legit info then I will apologize in advance for doubting your words... ;) However... as far as I know nothing is officially confirmed. And nothing found on Google is supporting the claim that season 2 got confirmed actually. Sure, a lot of different search results pop up, but from what I saw they're basically misunderstanding/overinterpreting what was said about the possible season 2 a month or two ago, nothing really new. Generally, the director was teasing the possibility of s2 as early as during the airing of the drama. Then in October he even had an Insta live in which he gave some additional info, addressed some fake rumours circulating abt season 2 being dropped already, cast changes etc. (he said those were not true) and then talked abt how everybody is working hard to make season 2 a possibility. That was pretty much it. In a nutshell. Because the script is already ready and bcs of what the director said, I assume some ppl misunderstood the actual message and then spread the "news" abt season 2 being confirmed, then some people believed it, spread it further and so on - that's the stuff that pops up in Google search results - at least for me.
But maybe I am wrong (I actually wanna be wrong, because I am really really anticipating the second season happening). If I am, please do tell - I wish the news were true π₯Ί
I don't know if anyone is interested, but ebook version of the photobook is out and you can actually find it even on Google Play Books (which honestly surprised me.)
currently i'm watching See Your Love. I thought of some SW and JT's moments as well on some scenes
See Your Love is such a funny drama to me. I honestly don't know what to make of it. I don't really consider it good, but I somehow end up being up to date with every episode π Guilty pleasure vibes, I guess... Still, the mains *are* kinda cute and Shao Peng does inspire this feeling of protectiveness in the viewers, I think, somewhat similar to how both SW and JT would made me feel abt them, so... maybe there is sth to what you're saying...
there better be a season 2 because ... what is withtbat dry ass ending π... the build up just to come back…
And here I was heartbroken over the ending. Glad someone had fun, at least a lowkey one.
And more seriously... it was more about the emotional distance and the fact that SW lied (and kept lying) to JT, despite JT trying to connect at Grandpa Ding's house. And after all the progress they have already made to get closer and open up to e/o. That was so heart-breaking, not the class transfer itself.
To your point about getting at least a confession - yeah... I kinda wish we got one, too. Following the book, the drama would probably need two more episodes to get to the confession point. Technically, I think it was doable to get there within 12 eps, if we dropped some redundant plots, like the kidnapping story.
But, either way, Patrick Liu decided to end it where he ended it, let's hope the second season does happen.
Their exs cheated but those 3 women were trash also. 1st one didn't have the balls to end it ,2nd one was also…
I fail to see anything trash about Han Su, though? Yeah, I agree, she didn't have "the balls to end it", but it's not always easy to end a relationship you were committed to for years. People are not things that can be just thrown away once they stop being entertaining. Her bf and her had a history together, even if they drifted apart...
Besides, the characters' love lives were not everything about their personas. I will continue with Han Su, because I really liked her character. She was hard-working, resilient, strong, motivated, assertive (I mean, yeah, not with ending her relationship... but outside of that) and once she became friends with Zhinan, she was also a positive force in her life (encouraging her to work hard on developing her writing talent).
Oh, and btw. the alternative title for this drama is sth like "There are no good men and women here" - so yeah, the title alone is not claiming the female characters are going to be great and flawless ;)
a question please : he zhinan with all what you mentioned about her but she get with the best man in the show…
Yeah... about that... she actually *is* the one who cheats on her boyfriend... I guess she gets the good stuff by virtue of being an official main protagonist π
She does have some redeeming qualities, though... As I mentioned, she's a pretty supportive friend. She also helps that guy before they get together and is really cheering on him chasing his dream. Also, while I think he is the best guy according to my own judgement, he is a bit rough around the edges, not the smoothest talker. So, while I think he is great, you might end up thinking differently ;)
So I'm watching this Taiwanese drama on Netflix called Light the Night. It's set in 1988 and the entire first episode they keep playing different renditions of The Moon Represents My Heart and each time they play it, I am immediately taken back to that scene with SW and JT when they talked about the moon... This drama is haunting me... π Even when I don't wanna think about it, I end up thinking about it π
The L in LGBTQ+ stands for lesbian meaning women so this comment is kinda funny to me.
Dang... that really wasn't my intention... I saw parts of your comment with which I disagreed (if I misunderstood them, then hell, who knows? Maybe we don't disagree) and I decided to participate in what seemed like a civil and friendly discussion.
Anyway, I didn't intend to dissuade anyone from sharing their opinion or add their voice, as I think that's what's fun on MDL.

Thus, statistics actually don't look so bleak ;)
Thank you. I guess (?) ;)
But I already know you love this show, you're not objective ;)
But If I can convince a new audience to go and watch it (preferably on official platforms), I'd consider it a win :>
