That’s my new head canon. He suspected it was not true, or perhaps he doubted it, and the doubt was killing him. So he agreed just to see him, and once he had him in front of him wasn’t able to let him walk away. Chusan’s ire is so poignant at that moment. Ahhhh, my boys, my boys. Yes, teenager have a harder time accepted the time gap. And I guess they are also more fixed on stereotypes like feminine bottom, dominant top. So maybe this BL is for us, the more mature audience 😁

We do have the same taste!!! I love Four Faced Buddha. I read it after watching To My Shore, another favorite, although not at the level of the Great Three, LOL. I will recommend PitBaby, especially the book, although the show is pretty good as well. It's just that one of the leads, as cute as he is, isn't that good at acting. But the other lead is one of the best I've watched on screen, so it makes up for it.
I'm also happy with the ending. It's very realistic. If Liuyi got away scot‑free after leading a criminal gang for years, it would be rather implausible. We love him! We know he's not a bad guy, and he never crossed a line (like human trafficking), but the gang was still dealing with drugs. They destroy people's lives.
Of course I wish his sentence were shorter, like 10 years. I'm still confused about the number. They said he got 20 years, and then it was reduced by 3 years due to him saving people during the fire. But then I did the math and got the impression he was only in for 15 years. So I don't know u.u
It's still a very happy ending. Maybe many viewers are younger than me, and that's why they dislike it. I'm 33, I've had one failed relationship, and I'm enjoying single life. But I met my soulmate at 22, and having to wait until 38 to be together doesn't seem like such a bad deal. At 40, you're still young and have half your life in front of you. They will spend all those wonderful years together, and since Liuyi has paid his debt to society, nothing can break them apart now.
I don't know why, but I love how Liuyi refused to see him for 4 years, knowing that even one visit would make Chusan not give up, just recalling what Chusan himself told him before. And then Chusan invents the fiancée, and Liuyi agrees to see him… but somehow he knows it's a lie. I wonder — did he know before agreeing? Or only after seeing him? LOL

I love how they break stereotypes. For example, when we're first introduced to these characters, we see Liuyi as the gangster and Chu San as the shy, innocent student. But as you read more and more, you realize Liuyi has a very fragile heart, while Chu San is made of steel. He's by far the more dangerous of the two, yet he never wavers in his love for Liuyi.
He's cunning and clever. He would do anything for Liuyi, but he won't let Liuyi push him away—or push him around. His love is so steady and all-encompassing. And Liuyi—the boy who once forced his own crush to marry his sister—can't escape Chu San. In the end, he ends up living the dream life as a househusband. I love him so much. He's such a sweetheart.
Ohhhhh, sorry. I'm just obssedd with these two. This level of obssession hadn't happened to me in a long, long time. First with Addicted, then with The Untamed.

It's sooooo perfect. I love how they don't follow usual trops. Each of them feel so real, and they match each other so perfectly. I spend all evening reading some of these fanfic. Some of them are quite long and decent. I loved the actors AU especially!
Why aren't there any fanfiction about these two? It's best BL series I watched since Addicted. The Untamed doesn't count, since it's historical and no modern
Does anyone know why he stopped making dramas? He was quite famous, he was also the ML and had one drama a year or more. But it seems now he's playing supporting characters?
Does anyone know how this show has been recieved internationally? I hope it's a success for the author since I love her and I want more of her books to be remake (just not like the Thai version of Addicted)
