so since that also failed they went to Plan c to destroy them. Du sis mentioned about ambition, so it could be some bigger higher ups somewhere.

a plausible hypothesis I’ve been thinking.. I’ve just dismissed the possibility of Nan Rui and Uncle Gao being in cahoots but they have the same goal: divide the relationship between Nan Heng & CGH to conquer the throne. If NH & CGH continue to be best buddies, NR will have no military backing and Gao Uncle will not be able to control NH with isolation. since it has been revealed that Uncle Gao has been actively sabotaging NH. I feel NR has also been egging on CGH with many random info for CGH to further misunderstand NH and pushing them further with reverse psychology. he also ensures he follows CGH to the scene to witness CGH spiraling out of hand. either NR is equally manipulative as uncle Gao or he is pushing the plot as per script writer’s will. he is still very fishy as of now. As for the emperor, he could have been very blindsided by both uncle Gao & NR. so very poor victims of power struggle are NH & CGH. at the rate it is going.. song family might get executed by CGH instead of NH..
