just prepare yourself, from eps 10-25, the ML has torture the heart of FL, for a very long time, 7 years, the ML does not want to married the FL for 7 years long straight !
1. is it true that ML has 1st wife ? how ? why ? when ? 2. is shen family has fallen, just because the new emperor dislike the shen family and lin family has proposed to curb the power of princes, when the old emperor is still alive ? 3. also, when the new emperor want to punish the shen family and lin family, lin family has break off the bethroted between the 2 family ? 4. so, this tv series its based the setting on MING dynasty ?

the development characters from FL and ML, has been stop since eps 18, in eps 25, i have hope that there is will be some significant/more very high important role about the FL and ML on their society, but the reality, there is no significant developement characters at all. but, only on eps 36, its appear.
It seems to me the drama was just not your cup of tea in the first place bc those characters you mentioned didn’t…
I enjoy discussing the various oddities found in many overrated TV series—particularly those within this genre.
this tv show has lot of those, but i think u will never see that, because people like you in here, has only 1 thing, to see some sweet romance between the FL and ML, eventhough the storyline on some times, is does not make sense/very illogical at all.

but, suddenly, in the later episode, they coming one to another, just for special cameo, after that, they all has gone, but sometimes, some of them is appear again the the last final episode.
nope, aunt zuo is never say anything, she is also has no specific reason to bullied the FL, she only like to bullied the FL, nothing more, nothing less.
Back when I was watching episode 18, I thought the male lead (ML) would transform into a much better version of himself—smarter, stronger, with more allies and greater power than he had in episodes 1–17.
However, the reality turned out to be the exact opposite in many ways.
The ML actually became more foolish; he didn't know how to cultivate good allies or launch preemptive strikes against his many enemies—whether through politics or court strategy.
The consequences were disastrous; the ML was completely unable to counter the main villains, repeatedly falling into their deadly traps.
To make matters worse, almost none of his friends were reliable—including the female lead (FL), who was just as clueless about the political world.
Both the FL and ML initially appeared intelligent and powerful around episodes 10–18, but ultimately, they achieved absolutely nothing.
In fact, the story only reached a resolution in episodes 34–36 after both the FL and ML begged their friends for mercy and assistance in wiping out their enemies.
This included asking for help from friends who had previously betrayed them.
Also, I had expected the FL and ML to officially marry much earlier—around episode 10—but they didn't actually tie the knot until episode 25, following a seven-year time jump from episode 10!
It was a massive waste of precious time.
Even worse, out of all the FL and ML's main enemies, only 1-2 died; the rest remained alive.
On top of that, after episode 18, several new characters suddenly appeared and played crucial roles, even though the previous episodes hadn't given a single hint of their existence.
For instance:
The female lead's seventh older brother and his wife, who suddenly appear as key figures in the wedding between the male and female leads.
The female lead's biological father, who suddenly turns incredibly cruel toward both her and her biological mother.
The male lead's adopted younger brother, who suddenly falls for the daughter of the male lead's former boss—a totally random development that somehow leads straight to marriage.
Or the appearance of Lord Young Qin, who just pops up out of nowhere and immediately throws his full support behind the male lead in the final two or three episodes.
Then there is the appearance of a highly powerful monk—a character who suddenly emerges and becomes a central figure, serving as a political advisor to the male lead and the emperor from around episode 20 or 30 onwards. Strangely, however, he only appears for one to three episodes before suddenly vanishing.
What the hell, dude?
What makes it even worse is the case of YJX—who was absolutely vile toward the ML and FL from the very beginning. Even when there was a chance to legally finish YJX off in Episode 15, the ML and FL—who kept forgiving YJX for every single one of those fatal transgressions—let the character live on in good health right up to the end of Episode 36!
Neither of them ever punished YJX at all—WTF!
also, Aunt Zuo, who somehow manages to constantly blame the female lead right up until the moment she dies on eps 14-15, without any clear explanation as to why she hates her so much.
And yet, so many people here defend it as a great TV series—claiming the relationship between the main couple is natural—WTF!?
I REALLY hate the "give up all power and retire to the countryside trope" but the one thing the writers…
i am only watch till eps 29, i am not to much excited about this tv series, the story, in the beinning is look like a very great storyline, but after story in ganlin town and changed into the capital city, all its look like, will be going down to the bottom of the sea.
for me, there is some question about some cases but its very importand, since eps 1-29, but it look like getting side away, very fast.
but, lot of people in here is glorified this toxic romance as romantic lovers, also give this tv show, some very high score in here.
