7.9 rating is crazy work ngl, so low, but you know each to their own, just my opinion but I think should be way higher

It will still be in there I think they just moved things around compared to the script, like in the episode 30 preview HY's confession was meant to be in ep 26/27. So I think they just moved things around a bit. Fingers crossed.

Such a good friendship, hopefully stays that way, this drama does not need any palace politics, the dynamic between the emperor, empress and concubine Mei is so good, and so far I think the drama knows palace politics is not needed.

I like that about him though, the author didn't force him to have an overly complicated role, it was centered around demons and the ML and FL, he was just on the outside and I liked that. Same in the drama, not really a drama that needs political plots and intrigue, thats why the empress and consort Mei get along instead of the typical evil consort or evil empress (I hope it stays that way).I like that so far the drama knows it doesn't meed any palace politics.

One thing I do hope is that they don't make the whole hidden identities from each other go on too long. I know it's needed for the plot, but I hope we can see them working together sooner than later. I will say was cute though in the novel when they were secretly protecting eachother, thinking the other was weak. So far though pretty damn entertaining.

Pei Ji Ya, in the novel he was obsessed with FL and wanted to marry her. Tried to kill ML a couple times when he found out they were engaged, confessed to FL but was rejected.

In the novel LTZ's mother was the previous snake master, so she was described as a a child born of human and sprit. Wasn't explained too much as far as I can remember, I might be forgetting some more detail but yeah in the novel her mother was the previous snake master and she inherited the position and powers from her mother.

Yeh I liked their dynamic, him being a fortune teller was interesting I thought, but I don't mind the change, I find his character in the drama pretty interesting so far as well

Probably, in the novel the Wu Zi Shu's character is described as Middle aged and homeless looking so since they changed him to look young and good looking, definitely has a bigger and different role compared ti the novel

In the novel We Zi Shu isn't a villain at all, he's just a friend/deputy of the FL, doesn't do much in the novel besides help the FL here and there. They've changed a lot, so I wouldn't go by the novel.

Obviously Xu Kai and TXW are perfect in this, so so good, but I wanna show some love to Bao Jian Feng, anytime any drama needs an actual likable/kind emperor, he's the guy. Just like Love like galaxy, he's such a likable emperor.

One thing I hope they keep from the novel is the friendship/sisterhood between the empress and concubine/consort Mei. Seems they have so far as seen in ep 2, but their closeness in the novel is so nice. Would be so refreshing to see an empress and consort that get along, and not hate each other and plot against each other. Looks good so far!

Its not Tencent's fault for this one, the main producer is linmon, they are responsible for global distribution of this

They've changed a lot ngl, almost completely different than the novel. In the novel WZS was a demon disguised as an older like homeless begger looking man, but since they made him young and good looking here it's possible. Honestly, the plot is really different from the novel so he might be, I can't tell know honestly.

Whoever did the styling of Xu Kai and TXW nailed it, XK's hair especially so well done, suits him so well and TXW's style and difference between her demon mode and princess mode is so well done as well. Just overall the style is really pleasing to the eye

Yeh that unfortunate but there's some romance looking symbols, a couple kisses, I just hope overall the relationship stays the same. It was super supportive with no drama in the novel, would be nice if the drama was on the fighting demons side and not on the relationship side

Yeh same, pretty rare for a cdrama of this type to have the ML and FL get married early and have a relationship with no drama's throughout, would be nice if they followed that

Not really no haha I don't blame them the novel was pretty low drama, low angst and only 100 chapters so relatively short. So I guess they needed to add stuff. I don't like to judge dramas based on the novel, have to watch them with fresh eyes you know. But no they aren't really following it in terms of the plot. The characters seem similar in their personalities and stuff though.

In the novel they have an arranged marriage since like chapter 2 and are married super early around chapter 30, drama is different though, not sure how early they'll marry in the drama
