Yeh, I read the novel a while back so maybe can't remember everything, but they definitely do go through stress, but the relationship is pretty stress free, only one minor obstacle where the crown prince, empress and other prince try to scheme to marry the FL/stop the marriage of Ml and Fl, but the ML outsmarts them pretty easily. Besides that, no real obstacles or misunderstandings or anything for their relationship, which I really like. Leave all the stress for the cases :)

I'm definitely praying they stick to the novel, I saw a rumor that Demon hunters romance was meant to be a happy ending, but got overruled by iqiyi people and they changed it to open. So I'm praying they don't screw this up.

Hahaha ikr same, two episodes a day isn't enough. Going by past iqiyi dramas, on the 27th they should release all the remaining eps for vip members. So the two a day like normal, and the remaining 4. If not the 27th then the 28th, one of those two days.

Normally iqiyi does do this. They release the last 4-5 episodes at once a few days before for vip members with a subscription.

Yeh it is his father. In the novel the emperor's face was badly scared after the rebellion fight so no one recognized him they just recognized him but his sword and assumed that was the emperor, that's how he replaced him. They left this detail out in the show but I think they'll explain it somehow. Maybe anyone that could recognize him is dead or kept quite, like in the most recent ep in the flashback, kind of looked like his wife recognized him but didn't say anything, that's why she gave the bracelets to Yan Chi and Yan Li.

Not really in terms of their relationship is what I mean. Few schemes but nothing really gets in their way that much, they're committed to each other and out smart the schemes pretty easily. They obviously have a slot of stress regarding cases and threats to their lives, but the relationship is pretty stable.

Major spoilers! The FL and ML get married without too much trouble, a few schemes to stop them but nothing major. However, on their wedding night the emperor decides to move against the ML and try to kill him. The Emperor also takes the FL and keeps her imprisoned in the palace. However, ML expects all this, he rescues FL and they escape together with the Ml's army to the north. At this point it's exposed the emperor is a fake, actually Yan Han survived the final battle (the rebellion 20 years ago) and took the place of the emperor, pretending to be him the whole time. Because of this, and the emperor trying to kill him, the ML declares himself king of the north. The crown prince and empress also separately escape the capital and rebel. Eventually, after the emperor backstabs the ML again when he protects the kingdom from barbarian invaders (even though he didn't need to and was safe in the north), he also rebels. Eventually, the Ml's rebellion succeeds, he becomes emperor, FL becomes empress, the emperor defeated and dies (poisoned by another prince who is the son of a women he killed to cover up his crimes). In the end the ML and Fl have a child and live happily ever after as rulers of the empire. This is the novel might not follow the exact same path in the show, but so far pretty similar.

In the novel is a very happy ending, and so far the show has followed the novel pretty closely except for a few minor changes. So looking good for a happy ending.

Honestly, I've seen a couple scenes that are hinting at the book ending. I think they'll go with it.

100% agree, nice change for once, I don't like when dramas change the novel for no reason and create drama or angst that makes no sense.

For novel readers, damn that line from Yan Chi about stealing the throne in the most recent ep hit close to home for sure, you could tell the emperor was a little pissed.

Honestly could happen, right now can only judge based on the novel and in the novel that doesn't happen. But with cdramas, who knows, it's possible.

Honestly, expect for some minor changes, overall I feel like they've followed the novel pretty closely. Which I really like. There has been a few changes but nothing that big just minor details mostly. So I'm hoping they keep following the novel as it's really good. So far it's nice how they have.

It's not in his plans, but in the novel he does become emperor, as for how I can explain it if you want.

Sorry you'll be disappointed no conflict at all, happens quite early in the show, actually refreshing how they didn't make that a conflict and got it out early, with not arguments or anything. So nice.

As far as I can remember, it wasn't mentioned or possibly very briefly. It was mentioned that his mother died from poisoning but I don't think the whole identity part was included, even if it was it was mentioned quickly. Didn't affect the rest of the novel. Actually for novel readers, they have kind of set up the same ending as the novel already with one scene, I don't want to spoil too much, but I don't think it will change. Also so far they have followed the novel pretty closely except for some minor changes. As for the border stuff, in the novel there's a whole bunch of stuff happens and the ML and FL return to the border before becoming emperor and empress. I can give you more info if you want but didn't want to spoil too much.

I'm not sure if this Kdrama should be on the list but I wanted to mention it and leave it up to the admin. The Kdrama is Our Movie. A real heartbreaker, spoilers ahead. The FL is a terminally ill patient, so you should know what to expect. However, the ML and the FL fall in love with each other and have such a heart warming romance. The FL heals the ML's past trauma and the ML helps the FL live the rest of her days to the fullest and achieve her dream. Once they're together they are so supportive of each other, and so cute together. They have such a great relationship, even though it started on weird terms. Beware though, there are no surprises, in the end the FL does pass away. That's why I'm not sure if it should be added to the list. However, while alive, there was no break up or misunderstandings, a very solid and soothing relationship. It will make you smile and feel warm inside one moment, then cry the next. An emotional roller coaster, but worth it in my opinion.

I want to mention 'In the name of blossom', the second season of flourished peony, so both should be added if season 1 isn't already. Just a heads up, there's an almost break up, but technically they're not together yet then (they were married and he wanted to divorce to protect her, but they had not admitted their feelings for each other at that time/weren't official, initially only married to protect FL). They slowly developed feelings for each other, and once they admitted their feelings for each other, they never broke up. They supported each other so much, saving each other and helping each other through troubles and schemes. Spoiler, the ML is thought to be dead at one time, but even then the FL dreams about him and misses him. So I don't consider this a break up. Once he heals from his injuries, he finds her and they continue their relationship like nothing happened. They reunite quite quickly. Overall, a really nice drama, with a really healthy and sweet relationship once they get together. The ML and FL have great chemistry! It does take a while before they become official and share their feelings though, especially if you watch season 1 and 2 together.
