Twisty Serial Killing Plot with Light Romance, could have pushed it further

I was so into this drama by episode 5 or so (the first four episodes I just kept begging it to stop showing me all the serial killing), but my enthusiasm dimmed in the final quarter. I thought Come and Hug me was like Just Between Lovers only with more focus on plot and less on romance, and that's true. But I thought it would be more about them healing, and instead towards the end it decided to throw in this "what if Nah Moo is like his father because his father is a serial killer?!" arc. Which could have been interesting if it was there from the beginning, but it wasn't, and even if it had been, I'm kind of super bored by the whole "dude has this seriously dark side but the woman in his life is a shining angel who keeps him from crossing the line." Especially when said woman doesn't have a lot to do, which she doesn't here. How much more interesting would it be, instead, if Nak Won was the daughter of the serial killer - still a man - and Nah Moo was the son of the victim? If they had to persist with such a plot, that twist would have made it more interesting. As it was, though, it's still a well done and overall gripping drama.
