I dont know how many can understand the joke but ye li and prince li relationship is similar to paro and dev form…
anddd their relationship dynamic screams 'mere pati hi mere parmeshwar hai' which pisses me off even more😔im trying to understand where her actions are coming from but i just cant lmao
The 'Three Obediences' has been drilled into these girls' bones from a young age. So, they genuinely might not…
i'd actually push back on that, i think she IS haughty. spoiled and no backbone makes it sound like she's just passive, but ye ying acts like her feelings and choices matter more than anyone else's, including the people around her dealing with the consequences. ming tan is a good example tho
i can think of like 10 women i know in real life who are similar to her. its a timeless issue. not something ive…
i'm not arguing it's unrealistic, my question is WHY. i want to understand the actual reasoning behind her character being so in love when she's fully aware he's trash, not just be told that it happens

yeah which is why i thought she'd end her feelings for him even if divorce was out of the equation.
i personally interpreted her character as a haughty noble lady who puts herself above everyth/everyone else so it feels weird to see her clinging to those feelings despite being aware of the entire situation

women back then were conditioned to accept anyth their husband did and stay silent about it. but ye ying isn't blind to it, she literally KNOWS he's trash(she even confronted him bout it) and still won't let go? and no shade but if the women around you are actually like this, its lowkey concerning
i know times were different back then, but i still don't get ye ying's devotion to prince li. esp after watching him throw a tantrum and basically threaten ye li with suicide. she's spoiled and immature, sure, but that's exactly why her unwavering devotion feels so weird to me. girl is highk dumb, but you're telling me she doesn't have enough self respect to look at that and go "actually never mind I still love him"?
I'm still cautiously optimistic about the drama and can see where much was changed, and feel a bit let down so…
i actually prefer the drama version. I have always disliked the trope where the female lead is portrayed as completely "pure" and untouchable before meeting the male lead, while he's allowed to have a long dating history. its such a common double standard in romance stories.
as much as i believe people are free to rate a drama however they want, i do think reviews should come from people who actually watched a reasonable amount of it. i was looking through the reviews and noticed that quite a few of them(both positive and negative)were written after only the first few episodes. i honestly don't understand how anyone can confidently review an entire series based on such a small portion of it. a lot can change over the course of a drama: characters develop, plotlines evolve and sometimes the strongest or weakest parts come much later. first impressions are one thing, but treating them as a complete review doesn't really reflect the drama as a whole and can end up being misleading for people looking for genuine opinions
