If you can withstand the script in the first episodes, you can achieve anything.
Overall, the series does a good job at portraying the characters and where they are coming from. Luckily, it is a matter of focus and receptivity. So as long as the genuine-ness of the lead couple gets you going, you are in for a sweet time.

Luckily, this is my second BL series, so I don't have an industry standard for comparison. I think the mains give more than expected as the series progresses.
