Yeah, if China was bothered by WOH they would simply take the show off the internet! Apparently they did that with Guardian? So like, even if WOH starts something, it won't lead to second reviewing of another show! They'll just ban WOH or something (which I hope never happens! I love WOH! o' great Gods protect all these adaptations! lol)

WOH is a different case. The immortality production was extremely secretive. They put up a lot of barriers to prevent paparazzi photos even though most shows have unspoken agreements to let paparazzi take bts photos. there were even several physical altercations with photographers. They always wanted Immortality to be a very quiet and secretive project so they just do not go around releasing stuff. Meanwhile, for WOH, god bless their souls, there were super romantic bts photos all throughout shooting! The advertising strategy for immortality has been very quiet.

They are both high budget, anticipated shows and the airing schedule in mainland is different so they won't want the viewership to be split between the two. Whenever hxy airs, it will be the main attraction.

I think it starts at the same time but will be released slower. Most shows finish airing in China before the international channels.

I think that's fake! To be honest, none of the rumors should be trusted. There are a lot of people who start fake rumors for a bit of internet fame and just being trolls. It's best not to panic over each of these. None of the rumors so far have been true.

I totally agree! I think they just didn't want two BL adaptations to air so close to each other. I think we should all wait and see. I don't know if the others will air so soon either. I know there has been some talk that Winner is King will come out in May but I'm not going to trust that until we see it either!

I don't know why it wouldn't? It's been two years since The Untamed and even so there was some tension pitting the two shows against each other even though they weren't really anything alike. There has also been a lot of hype for "battle of bl dramas" from Chinese reviewers so competition is heavy for all these adaptations. Tencent is too business savvy not to consider the fandom wars while releasing highly anticipated adaptations.

Tencent always releases its shows on its official channel on Youtube, I think.

I heard they won't be airing any in Q2. which is around April to July, I think? Then maybe it'll come out in August. I think they planned to release Immortality in April but changed their minds.

That show was nowhere near as good or popular or successful as Word of Honor? like that's not a good example here at all. Most people totally overlooked it! Immortality is a very expensive project, they won't just air it as an after thought to a bigger, better project. I'm not being just random. The Long Ballad just replaced The Sword and The Brocade for Tencent and by the time it ends, we're well into Q2 which all Chinese fans say is an unlikely slot for historical dramas. It's convenient to cling to the speculative part of my comment and totally disregard the logical parts but I'm not just being "negative". I'm using my deduction and studying the actual situation. Think what you will, like I literally can't make you think sth you don't want to? but I'm making myself ready to not be disappointed.

Well this won't air anytime soon! I mean with Long Ballad out, this show won't air now. It also makes sense to not air right after WOH now that Word of Honor was such a success because they probably wouldn't want their hypes to clash. It definitely won't air in summer either so it would be a miracle if they decide to air it this year at all. I have to say...the prospects for this show are rapidly dwindling these days...

Oh, this is hilarious! I am laughing myself silly. Is there just one episode? Is the one episode 2 hours? Is there more than one episode and each is 2 hours? I am so confused!

See this was my exact concern for Immortality all along. Apparently, the director is really bad? I tried And The Winner Is Love which he also directed and it was bad too so I'm so worried about Immortality.

May and June is in Q2 and it's very unlikely for any historical drama to get an air date then so it's either now or in Fall.
