Okay i watch it again from ep 1 after drop it on ep 34 (fortunately, before the killing spree begin), and now…
I got confused too because the gang had a live talked about the ending and the actress for Chu Yue said she was supposed to act like she's alive so she's probably hallucinating or really seeing the kid LOL
That's interesting how you dislike the ML but dissuade against the second ML. I think they are both morally grey…
Yes, I agree! SML approaches her in a charming and less straightforward way, but his intentions are clearly not good. Poor girl is definitely just a pawn as of now to both of them.
I'm still on ep 4 so I have no clue yet as to how all their relationship unravels.
I watched the first 8 episodes and it bores me a little and irritates that even if ml later will turn be green…
That's interesting how you dislike the ML but dissuade against the second ML. I think they are both morally grey characters. The second ML may not excessively show it outright on the surface like ML, but he is also calculative and manipulative by using FL as bait - she literally almost died the first time he baited her and just watched. Second ML may not be like the ML who sees FL as a stranger and is someone he must remove because she has evidence against him, but the fact remains that second ML is with the FL from the get-go and is the one getting to know what kind of person she is; yet, he still puts her at risk, which is why he's also a dangerous person. He baited her life two times in which she could have died, but her surviving is due to her sheer luck and/or her strength at holding on to her dear life; and because the second ML still needs her.
Omgee, this drama was like background noise for me. I'm like it's ridiculous, but I'm still watching it 😄. Most parts were corny and then some parts had me so invested. There were waaay too many sexual tension scenes just for fan service and I found myself LOL at most of them. The ML was the strongest actor of the bunch and a very good kisser. Both leads match the innocent naive girl and bad boy vibes. I found the 2nd ML's acting kind of awkward, but his story and his emotional scenes kind of eventually won me over too.
I started this mini drama a while back and while I did enjoy it, I heard about the ending so decided to put it on hold; however, it's been bothering me ever since, since I haven't finished it. I'd say the first half of this drama was really good but felt like the second half got really draggy with the writer attempting to stretch it out for a BE which was sooo unnecessary.
That ending was complete rubbish imo! I can't believe they showed the ML unaliving himself next to his wife's dead body. I mean I don't condone him killing himself afterwards, but it would have been better if he did it without her dead body there. Also, I felt like he still had big responsibilities left towards his kid and his people, but whatever guess they weren't important.
I also didn't like how the writer made no attempts on the cousins part to let the little girl know that her mother was in fact FL, the first time they saw each other. Weird. At this point, we had yet to know that FL was going to sacrifice herself!
Besides that, I loved the aesthetics, clothes, and music in this drama. FL was a new discovery! I think she's really pretty and can act! Definitely can take on bigger project. The only other character I liked besides the lead was Qin Sang's character; wished they had shown her more! She was kind and loyal. Plus, she was the only one who knew that ML was going to unalive himself!
Sighs, I could have rated this higher but can't for that ending alone.
I didn't like this one as much as I thought I would and the ending was lousy in my opinion. Yes, it looks like it's gearing up for season 2 but they made FL so wishy washy at the end. It's like she wants to be with ML, but doesn't want to stay cooped up in the palace yet decides to stay only to contemplate later again. Also, ML doesn't seem like he wants to leave his throne to accompany her so the ending was weak imo.
One of the best lines from this drama takes place in episode 39 and it is delivered by the ML: PWX in response…
I like them together! If I didn't pull through for ZJM and ZLH alone, I would have dropped this drama like a hot potato. It took me weeks to finish this drama just because of how infuriated I felt. I kept telling myself not to give up so I don't blame others for criticising this drama because it's the truth and the production needs to see this. I'd blame it on the writer and the production team for making her character frustrating and romanticize 2nd ML with his slowmo bg song and stares between him and FL because we don't need this. Also, he constantly preaches about his right while everyone is wrong just doesn't sit well with me, gah he is the most annoying 2nd ML I've ever met!
I finally decided to pick this drama up because 1) my sis was infatuated with the 2nd leads and 2) I was bored.…
I did skip alot of the leads' scenes in the first life and found it silly how the ML brainwashed and pushed the FL away. Like how could you do that?...ML was selfless and selfish at the same time. His so called ways of loving and protecting her was beyond selfish! He always thought that what he did was the best for her, but it became repetitive and he always screw her over just like giving her sweet candies and then bitter medicine afterwards. Time after time, he was the one that made her heartbroken and did her dirty.
Also, I was disappointed that ML never learned his lesson; the FL was content with being by his side although she knows that she may never become his wife.
Props to FL's character, she had a nice character growth. I didn't really like her in the first life because she was not impressionable; she was innocent, naive, and bland. But, I did come to love her Ayu and Chenyue character, they both made me care for her relationship with the ML because she wanted to fight against her fate, and she wanted to fight for the man she loves and for her own happiness. I didn't really like her 4 lifetime, but I did appreciate that 1) she told the ML what she had wanted all along, which was to be by his side, 2) she finally hated the way how he protects her and 3) she remembers all the lifetimes.
All in all, I did love the 2nd leads more. They were like a breath of fresh air from the depressing leads' storyline. Even ML was more interesting when he was with the 2nd leads. Not to mention, 2nd leads' love was consistent and it grew more over time. I found myself squealing and blushing whenever they were together. I wished more scenes were added for them. You can't help but want to see more of SML melt for SFL, that's just how good and cute they were together! Hands down Pan Mei Ye got the best role LOL. If you want to pick this drama up, definitely stay for the 2nd leads.
I know I'll be looking forward to more of Deng Wei's dramas, he did well for his first role and he can definitely emote and cry.
I'm still on ep 4 so I have no clue yet as to how all their relationship unravels.

And omgash, such a twisted relationship!
