Everyone has their own reasoning for the ratings that they put on a drama whether that would be good or bad. I have no complaints because my own rating wouldn't be align with yours or others and I have no reason to persuade you or others to like it nor should you do to others. Like you say, the story is written well so just enjoy. I always start a drama regardless of the ratings of the drama and make my own perception of it. I'm only simply stating why this drama could have low ratings and what I'm fustrated about it, but I'm not stating that it's not a good drama. The leads are not getting chewed over their acting should be a sign that rating has nothing to do with them or their acting but a problem with the story or a certain character (people can only endure so much if there's no progress). You can't just have all the good eggs without some bad eggs. Plus, the people who are still watching this drama like me and others have not rate it yet. And, the drama seems to be doing well in China as the story is finally shifting to another arc.

It has nothing to do with owing her anything. It's work ethics. He was her superior. Everything and every project she does passes through him. He noticed the bribery right away while she clearly didn't as she thought it was just a discount, but he could have stopped the project as he knew she wasn't bribing with them and yet he didn't. This is in no way of him protecting her. And, no she wouldn't be fired because if she went through another boss, they would have caught this bribery and she would have to go through company trial/disciplinary action to check whether she did do bribery in which she didn't, but she can at least try to prove her innocence.

No way is ML innocent! Plus, you are repeating information that I already know. If he was so innocent, his secretary guy/friend wouldn't constantly tell him about the goodwill of FL and try to persuade him to change his mind about using FL. If he was so innocent, he wouldn't be guilty for what he did to FL, but he always puts on a guilty face when it comes to her.
The point is he still used her and IDK how that can sit right with you. FL REPEATEDLY told him that she has connections with the Xin because of the BF, but nope he tells her that it's work and it has nothing to do with that. So what can she do when she's still an employee and has to do her job that her boss tells her to do.

I'm pretty sure with his capabilities, he's able to bring Dennis and Xin down another way as they both are sketchy themselves, but nope, he already chose FL as his downfall person. Why? Because she's an easy scapegoat and he knew this the first moment he wanted to fire her and it would be quicker to take out Dennis and Xin through her.
Also, ML was only working with FL for a month or two so what kind of guidance is there to give from him to her when he only commanded her to do this and that and that's exactly what she did. He only promoted FL to make it seem like she DID do something sketchy to get a promotion which was why he promoted her and this shows as it goes back to your listing on the kickback where he tried to use that to bring Xin & Dennis down - this brought a tarnish on her work reputation, pratically implying that she used her "BF's connections" to get that discount and to move up in her workplace which she NEVER did. Again, because of what ML did now she's also not only had her work reputation destroyed, she's now seen by her BF's family for using them when she never did.

Now, I understand why grandma would rather give the hotel to FL instead of ML. People were commenting on how FL wasn't capable of running a hotel and the Grandma should have given it to the ML, but honestly, FL has shown that she's capable of running it too. Everything that ML has told FL to do, she was able to do it without him worrying about it which is why he knows she's a great worker and see potential in her. Also, the bidding event shows that whatever he had asked her to do, she already knows what she needed to do without him asking.
Plus, now I know ML's plan. He doesn't care about grandma's hotel. He wants to reform it, have someone else run it, get a promotion out of it, and go home abroad. So, knowing all this, grandma would be insane if she gave it to ML.

OMGAD, my blood was boiling at ep 6. I wanted to jump into the screen and hit Jialing's sister. I understand why some viewers would shy away at these beginning eps bscause we're still focused on MCH's story with Jialing, but I'm still invested in this drama. Plus, I'm wondering what Zhiming is planning.

Like I understand him and see why he's doing that, but it was still annoying especially how FL has amnesia and how ML was not hostile towards him. He did also mention to ML in ep 17 that he was reckless, stupid, and ignorant before which aligns how I saw his character LOL.
