Ends unhappily
If you don't like unhappy endings, definitely skip this one. The beginning of their relationship is a little rushed and the show mostly focuses on how these two face the issues in their relationship rather than showing them happily together. Personally, I think breaking up at the end makes sense for these characters and I appreciated how realistic both girls felt but if you're not into any of that, you probably won't like this. Was this review helpful to you?
I love this sect of shampoo ads
Fu Yu isn't my favorite pairing with Sheng Wei and i'm not really into their dynamic but this is such an interesting concept and I think they executed it really well especially considering it's like 6 minutes long. Their message is clear, concise, and specific and I love that they incorporate classic Chinese mythology to convey it because a) they use some lesser known mythological figures b) it's a clever way to talk about the issue and c) it also doubles as brand advertisement because they use those specific mythological aspects as part of their branding. I'm tempted to buy these shampoos just to support the ads and I think that means they're doing it right. Was this review helpful to you?

nicely edited, decent plot
It's a cute, fairly simple plot about a girl who's doing a group project and two of the members like her. I like the way the audience also slowly figures out alongside Hanuel who she actually has feelings for. I'm burnt out watching cql music videos of girls hanging out so I appreciated that there was a plot happening here at all. The editing was good and all the actors played their part well. I did feel bad for Taei at the end though. Was this review helpful to you?
Typical Sports Movie but Fun
It's fairly predictable to the end but if you like sports movies and movies about female friendship, you can't go wrong with this one. I liked that there was no love triangle or too much jealousy or backstabbing or any of those things. The issues that arise are fairly mild . And this might be my bias showing but Hyeri once again proves to be utterly charming.I will say that the period trappings didn't enchant me as much as say Twinkling Watermelon or Reply 1988 but it grew on me as the movie went on. Overall, it's fairly well done with strong acting and a tight script. I would recommend.

lighthearted, funny, queer
I appreciate how much effort this company puts into showing different types of lesbians instead of always just super femme pretty girls. It's a bit over-the-top but the characters felt far more real and queerer than most. The storyline's more complex than I expected from watching Girls on Rela. Watching this made me feel deeply sad about the heavy censorship that queer media in China is subject to nowadays.Edit: forgot to mention, there's some mild homophobia-instigated angst but it's not dwelled on

Does a lot in very little time
The setting is quite new considering this genre of Chinese gl shorts. I haven't seen many set in Republic-era China before. Like I mentioned in the headline, this show also does a lot in four minutes. Rather than a stereotypical dynamic, this is about a lawyer's wife trying to help her old friend who is stuck in an abusive relationship except due to the time period, they both have very limited rights. The girls also get a mostly happy ending together. It's ALSO a shampoo ad. I would happily watch a full-length series about this concept. Was this review helpful to you?
Underrated gem with excellent story-telling.
The plot is intriguing and easy to follow. If you like dramas with young, morally ambiguous characters, lying, manipulation and death/violence, you'd like this. It falls apart a little at the end and does fall into some harmful stereotypes but it's not too inexcusable for me at least, considering the genre. It's more explicitly queer than I expected, less so than could be. I highly recommend watching it though, especially if you like the "pure character x morally ambigious person obsessed with them" dynamic ie Devil Judge or Pyramid Game. Was this review helpful to you?
Recommend watching the original
I know these tend to be pretty short but at 1 minute 24 seconds, this has to set some kind of record for being the shortest. I think checking out/skimming the synopsis of either the original or any of the various adaptations would be very helpful in providing a context for this. Aiye is gorgeous as the demon and I think considering the runtime, their chemistry was good. I would definitely watch a longer show with this specific pairing. I will say that this felt a little more erotic than usual though that's a very VERY low bar.Was this review helpful to you?
weird but still really good
This isn't your typical lesbian short, to start with, there's no love story. It's just about this girl who deals with being a lesbian. Despite the premise, this is set mostly as a black comedy. I initially didn't think i'd like it but the style really did end up working out and the end is sweet. It also grows on you while and after you've watched it. Twenty minutes later, i'm still thinking about this movie. It's definitely worth a watch especially if you like stuff that's a bit quirky. Was this review helpful to you?

honestly not too bad
There's not a lot happening in here. It's mostly girls looking pretty with an external narration on top. But there is a little bit of plot and the bit there is is done well. They manage to get some fair angst and sketch out a decent dynamic with just three minutes. The vibes are a little similar to parts of Nvr Hong so if you liked that, you'd appreciate this. The music is also really good. It's not the best thing out there, not even the best of wuxia gl shorts but if you like Sheng Wei and you have three minutes to spare, i'd watch this over some other ones. Was this review helpful to you?

Definitely worth a watch
This feels like the kind of moody, complex stuff that I expect from Japan and I was surprised to find that it was korean. If you've watched older japanese bl shorts, it feels a bit like that. The story is happy but in a kind of bitter way. I loved the dynamic between the two leads and how rich it felt compared to most gl shorts. Overall, even though the video quality is bad, I'd very much recommend watching this little gem.Was this review helpful to you?
Short and plottier than expected
The premise sounds simple and at first, I thought it would be like your normal gl short films where the story begins and ends at two girls falling in love. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this has more plot to it. It feels like a shorter, stripped down version of your normal gmmtv ep which I personally enjoy. Of course, there are things that aren't as well developed but that's to be expected considering the length. I definitely think it's worth a watch, especially if you're looking for something with just a little bit more plot than 3 minute montages of girls looking cute. Was this review helpful to you?
angsty, short, riveting
The premise itself is pretty simple and it's a very small production however, something about this is just riveting. The acting and chemistry is great. Sometimes the tone in low budget shows can be wonky but I think this was directed really well. Be warned, the ending doesn't feel like a ending so hopefully they release a season 2 soon. Was this review helpful to you?
