I think Japan is the epitome when it comes to make unsual, weird, ugly, unpleasant etc plotSometimes we like it…
Yes..I agree... most of the time, Thai soap opera is bad. They air such abusive, misogyny storyline in their prime time show. IDK why? Because it seems contrast with their daily life? I mean I had heard many stories about interaction with Thai people. They're usually kind, friendly, helpful and reserved like typically east asian. But their soap opera says otherwise. And what I was pointing before was..in Japan we would find the most unlikely plot...that people in other countries probably wouldn't think of it. Maybe it's because unlimited creativity or unique culture or liberty in expression. So, as example, many storylines in Japanese movie/dorama/anime is hard to find in my country's shows. Because sometimes it's hard to accept and not relatable in our life. As for abusive kidnap, rape, and aggressive in Thai opera soap, such vulgar plotlines will never get aired in our cinemas and tv. There will be a lot of criticism from citizens and censor from government. I remember once there was a local movie with vulgar lines and an opera soap with a real kiss scene that received a lot of criticism and became national sensation. I respect every culture outside me. I'm neutral. I guess it's blessing that every country has unique culture that sometimes is portrayed on the screen.
I have a sensitive heart. I recounted the time I was crying badly on Miracle Cell No. 7..haha .Whenever misfortune falls or Cinderella's misery appears, I immediately shed a tear. But, so far...after 1 Liter of Tears dorama, only Mother (japan version) can make my eyes swelling from excessive crying in every episodes. Mother is an exquisite drama. I felt it didn't intended to sell a sad story as 1 Liter of Tears but merely a slice of life drama. The plot and the top notch acting of the cast had delivered a believable story that made us felt nothing but sorrow. Sometimes I regret to have watched that dorama. lol
She was born muslim. Many Uyghur and Hui muslim actors don't hesitate to show their religion but somehow reluctant to show their identity as muslim openly. As you live in communist country, conformity is a must. Beside they're minority. You'll see that they're not that devoted muslim, but at least they don't change (convert) their belief.
Only in Japan you receive the budget to film such dramas.
I think Japan is the epitome when it comes to make unsual, weird, ugly, unpleasant etc plot Sometimes we like it cuz it gives a freshness to dramaland...sometimes it's just creepy and disgusting!
