Not only is it in the summary, there is also the scene after graduation where he is shown with the documents changing his last name. And the scene where he starts to feel guilty for how he is treating Chaeha bc he realizes that they are both victims of the events that happened that day. Him being the victim’s son is not intended to be a surprise to the viewer.

If you’re looking for a big plot, most shows by companies such as Secret of Us (which made this show), Flying Penguin, Strongberry, etc are not where you should be looking. Script quality does vary of course, but these types of shows are more like snapshots, a little slice of life. I find them quite charming if you go into them with that expectation.

You and I are in agreement more than not. All someone has to do is replace Tin with a female character who is told to “use a louder voice” if she wants to be released, or “prove” she doesn’t love her incessant pursuer who kisses her… of course women watching the show would lose their shit all over a guy who behaved like that toward a woman. So if your comment is really about educating someone, then maybe say something like that (especially since noncon against males is often blown off for the very fact of them being male).

And apparently cheating in fiction is also highly triggering for a lot of people (see: comments for Deep In). This is just not the genre for you. And that’s ok! If absolutely necessary for you to consume BLs, I recommend ones set in high school, although those are not 100% immune to these stories either. So, yeah, maybe just best to watch G rated content to be safe?

I would also add… fiction plays a very powerful role in helping people to see themselves or others in stories. Someone in an abusive relationship might be too close to their own to recognize what is happening, but when they read or see it in fiction, it can be a lightbulb moment for themselves. Or someone who isn’t in an abusive relationship now but starts to experience one later might recognize what is happening sooner. Also, for those who have read any amount of fan fiction, a lotttttt of people write dark stories to help them process their own trauma.

All this to say a) I don’t see the relationship in this show as abusive, but b) wanted to add these comments to address some people’s concern about irl consequences of fiction. In my experience in social work and education, I see (even dark) fiction bring irl *benefits* all the time.

I’m typically nervous for the conclusion of shows that have been brilliant (why do so many BLs fuck up the last part??) but there have been several comments by readers of the novel that say there’s a big twist at the end that will change how we saw everything, and now I'm terrified that I might hate the ending! 😭 Someone posted the twist in a spoiler that I have made myself resist, but every day I am wracking my brain as to what it could be. I really really REALLY want this show to have a satisfying ending. I might need medical attention if it doesn’t 😩
