There are few exceptional dramas like the untamed,story of the yanxi palace,reset etc.Despite not being non romance dramas became a major hit internationally.SOTYP was the most searched drama on Google that year.i guess many people were intrigued by the large scale costume drama which was something new to the international audiences,same goes for drama 'reset' it introduced the time loop concept on cdramas. but I am talking about 'majority'.if you ask Chinese drama viewer to list top 10 dramas ,you will find more than 90% romance dramas on the list.most of the international audience watch cdramas and kdramas for romance,but they also have to think about general audiences/domestic audiences,as it is their main domain.I just wanted to express my opinion/preferences.

In the novel,he has dark past,his whole family is wiped out which made him more cruel and assertive.To the outside world,he is unreachable,He has a talent of trembling other with only his glance,but he is very understanding to FL and approach her shamelessly and teases her occasionally.He has a two side on the novel, fearing official and loving partner ,which will be fun to watch He has a very strong aura and I love such characters.Thats why I am looking forward to SOTB than his other dramas.i want xukai to change his roles but I don't think it's good to change the overall genre.Its just that personally I prefer light fun dramas than gloomy,sad and serious dramas.

I am more than 80%confident that sotb will be a bigger hit than FL,it's not about good or bad ,it's just that international audience prefer romance dramas.i also like to watch dramas where xukai have more screentime than sharing screentime with annoying support actors such as moonlit reunion and court lady.Also it is my preference.i prefer fun,laughing,light dramas than serious, sad dramas.FI is different from 800,I think it will have more cheerful moments than 800.If you ask me ,I am more excited about SOTB,bcoz I have read the novel,it has more cheerful moments but I am afraid he will have less screentime.Wonderland of love,falling into your smile and arsenal military academy are my best dramas,I can rewatch them many times.Xukai have sufficient screentime,his part of story is fully covered,there is not much annoying support characters and these dramas are fun with many delightful moments.

Okay okay,it is pointless for us to debate in here,everyone have their own way of judgement.lets just look forward to his upcoming dramas.

I am not a big fan who follows him and support him blindly,I prefer his dramas more than other actors,Also,it is only my personal opinion.Just bcoz I love watching xukai dramas,It isn't necessary to like all of his dramas.Everyone have their preferences and I prefer rom com over serious crime dramas.me, expressing my opinion on this platform is not going to impact xukai's decision on choosing a script.There is no need for you to be serious.i have watched 800,I have never said it's bad.i have only expressed my thoughts.I think more than 80% (I am talking about international audiences) prefer to see him on rom com dramas than serious dramas.if you ask people which dramas you prefer between his upcoming dramas spring of the blade and fire investigator,I believe many people will choose romance drama spring of the blade over non romance drama fire investigator.Yes, I also prefer 800 over moonlit reunion, bcoz he had less screentime and there were too many annoying supporting characters,where xukai's part of the story was not even fully explored.i am just saying that he shouldn't shift from romance dramas to non romance dramas completely.it is not good for his global influence/popularity. Falling into your smile is the most loved xukai drama overseas but it was not much well received on china.It is just that Chinese audiences have different preferences than international audience preferences.

So in conclusion,he should choose script where he can showcast more of his acting skills but he should shift between roles but he shouldn't completely shift from romance dramas to non romance dramas. But it is difficult when he is under an agency,he has no bigger influence on deciding over scripts.I am also looking forward to his upcoming dramas,

Celebrities earn more money from endorsement than from acting especially after Chinese gov establish a regulation to limit actor's salary in 2021.Actors like Chen zheyuan ,xu Kai are popular for idol dramas,they gain high popularity with drama like hidden love and FIYS .so they have fanbase who love to see them on that kind of genre dramas(rom com dramas).if xukai start doing non romance genre dramas he will lose his fanbase as there are many more alternate actors on that genre dramas nowadays.Shifting the role is understandable like he has done CEO roles,costume,prince roles many times,he should try doctors role,reporter roles etc,but I don't think shifting the genre is a good decision.look at recent drama '800' it has got the lowest rated drama in his entire filmography and it is not that bad,it shows that people prefer to see him in romance genre dramas.its not like Chinese audience prefer him in other genre,it got 6.9 rating with only 16000 voters,which is not that good.

30 is not a old age even more when we see Chinese and Korean actors,I am not saying they should not do serious dramas where they can showcast their acting skills which will further more lead to the award wins,one serious drama a year is enough but recently they are choosing all serious dramas and not choosing light rom com dramas,serious dramas are one time watch but people rewatch rom com dramas many times,it is good for long run profit.Also international audience prefer rom com dramas than serious dramas from Korean and Chinese drama industry.just look at falling into your smile,it is the most watched cdrama on YouTube,it is still trending on few countries meanwhile,we barely see mention of serious dramas like 800,it hasn't been much months and people started to forget it.These kind of dramas are not for long run.people are noticing cdramas globally now,each dramas are talked much on global scale ,int platforms like netflix and Disney plus are investing on cdramas(about 90% dramas are rom com).Yang yang is popular,not bcoz of his recent works but bcoz of his old roles from love 020,you are my glory,FOMH etc,xukai was popular bcoz of falling into your smile meanwhile baijingting is popular for his sang Yan role in the frost frost

There are 3 actors I follow on cdramas, baijingting,xukai and Yang yang.All of them are doing serious dramas but I prefer rom com dramas or idol dramas.Its frustrating nowadays.I want dramas like baijingting's the first frost, xukai's falling into your smile and Yang Yang's you are my glory.I don't prefer watching other actors dramas.

Is xu Kai not going to start filming new dramas? There are only melons but no official announcement.Is he waiting for the ending of his contract?it would be nice if he chooses a dramas like falling into your smile or wonderland of love,these two are my favourite dramas of his.Also there is no any update on spring of the blade.

It's the very best time for xukai to leave the agency start doing on his own or sign for big agency with great IP dramas on hand.His performance on 800 is being highly praised by professional critics and audiences.

It's fine if it's a female centric story but the drama must also have a seperate influential role/story for male lead, not just supportive to female lead.The Chinese dramas are long often more than 30 EPs with 40 minutes each so they have plenty of time to explore the storyline of both male and female leads,instead of just keep adding support characters,they should focus more on male leads and female leads part, that is also the reason I was highly disappointed with moonlit reunion they just keep adding annoying supporting actors.spring of the blade is mainly focused on female lead on novel.shen run (xukai's character) is first introduced on chapter 25 out of 102 chapters but the character of Shen run is interesting and powerful so I am seated for this drama.I wish to see him Collab with meng ziyi and Wang churan someday on idol romance drama like falling into your smile.I guess he will not be doing drama unless the business with Yu Zheng (huanyu agency) is done.

This drama was mid for me.They wasted screentime on useless support characters as if they were promoting them. In the meantime they totally ignored the male lead storyline.such a potential drama destroyed for promoting support actors.Totally ruined it.Solid 6/10 drama.I loved main leads chemistry.They did an excellent job portraying their respective roles.The production team just ruined the story by repeatedly introducing characters.I guess supporting characters agencies paid/deal with production team to have large screentime for their artists

Thank you,I loved the first frost,it is a masterpiece drama.i just wanted to watch something similar type of drama,As I saw a clip of sleepwalking,it instantly reminded me of the first frost,I started rewatching the first frost.I don't know the ML of this drama but I know Kim bum but I think he is on backstage on this drama as well.

I saw a post saying there is sang Yan 2.0 on that drama,maybe in the future I will give it a try.

Lee Jong suk is popular for having a great chemistry with his co actresses and have won best couple award for almost all his dramas.we haven't seen him on rom com dramas since 2019 drama 'romance is a bonus book'.so this drama is the most anticipated drama for me.i am looking forward to seeing the chemistry between lee Jong suk and shin min a.In novel/manhwa,there are many such moments.its pity that it is only 10 episodes.i hope they make long episodes length >1hr20min /episode.Its been a long time since I last watched kdramas.
