the director has no option but to retire atp, cuz who gave this mf the confidence to be director. How tf do u manage to make the plane scene worst than if an actual low budget short drama had filmed it.
I’m not exaggerating when I say A 5 year old kid on their fucking iPad could film better than this, cause why do I feel like I should have started a gofundme page for the production team. Thankfully the plot and actors are saving it for me, but there’s no way he actually has the audacity to keep directing after this.
I think the director may want to consider early retirement, but that’s just me lol. Def thinking he was smoking something when making this. Anyways, I’m all for fair criticism for the drama, as it’s quite disappointing for the viewers that have been waiting for this and I’m sure we all think the actors deserve a lot better than this shit show of a production.
I’m well aware that some defensive fans need to chill out and accept criticism, as I do think calling out stupid shit like the AI, chopping editing, heavy filtering, sound effects, and overall production will prob do everyone a favour for future drama productions. However, some people’s criticism of the acting and plot make me wonder if their opinions are truly “non-biased” and if they are viewers from a previous drama of the leads. Again, it might just be personal preference which is fine, but the plot is literally not that damn hard to understand, despite the choppy editing and production. for those stating that there seem to be plots holes or missing info… like bro it’s only the second day lol. Like tf are you expecting, a docu series or some shit. It’s a drama with more than 5 episodes so chill tf out. Additionally, the comments regarding the the acting or chem between the leads are funny af. It’s ok if you’re not feeling it but I can smell the biased bs leaking from some of y’all’s comments lmao.
Don't hate me, but to me FML i s fine striking poses, but the actual acting is artificial, stiff, with rushed…
Are you referring to her facial expressions? She’s praised to be very natural in her previous works. Again, might be preference, but the way you said “poor ZLH” makes me question who you seem to be a suitable FL for him
curious what the domestic reaction to the drama is so far, disregarding the AI usage and the stupid production choices made for the drama. Imo, the plot is def intriguing and giving soap-opera vibes which I don’t mind cuz it’s a drama (I honestly don’t care about the fast pace story telling format as much cuz at least I’m not bored), but am curious about how people feel about the plot itself as well as how the acting is received in China so far?
prob in the minority, but I don’t mind the fast paced storytelling and the plot is pretty solid so far. However, the production looks like shit, which surprised me considering the cast. Not surprised about the AI intro cuz it’s def some stupid shit IQIYI would do. Atp, I wouldn’t mind if tencent just bought IQIYI cuz I think they have actually lost it with the AI slop.
watched the leaked vid from the tencent conference and hmmm"Its been three years, it still taste the same"..…
this is just my opinion, but a lot of people nowadays prefer to watch short dramas for it’s fast paced storytelling, as it doesn’t drag. Also despite their “questionable” lines and plot, let’s be fr, people are still going to watch for the plot. I mean how else do people find certain plots “familiar,” it’s because they watched numerous ones themselves lol. this is not to say I am hoping that this drama looks like a short drama, but I’m not completely against the idea of the plot being structured similar to a short drama as well. It’s a drama after all, and tbh real life events are more dramatic than drama plots these days. As long as they don’t mess up the plot lol.
can a S drama be promoted to S+ during post production? Cause despite this drama being a S drama, IQIYI and tencent are pushing this drama like it’s a S+ drama (as they should lol), as filming finished not that long ago and they are pushing material left and right with trailers and interviews. I mean I’m not complaining lol.
the fact that both actors filmed hello Saturday 5 months for promo material in hopes that this drama was gonna air earlier this year is crazy. what is youku doing??
when I saw the teaser i was like wait what? is this a short drama? The way they shot the scenes it really looks…
yea I believe in the iqiyi conference they said the plot is supposed to feel like a short drama, which I don’t mind cause I eat up short drama plots lol. however, I just hope the actual drama will not be shot like a short drama. they def need to get rid of that bright filter, perhaps a more natural yellow tone would be more suitable for a republican era drama.
I think it's the filter that makes it look modern. it's too "HD".
same, I prefer wide shots as well. I believe he directed princess gambit as well and some shots were way too close and shaky lol. Fingers crossed we get more material after the wrap up 🤞
I think it's the filter that makes it look modern. it's too "HD".
yea I think your right. Especially the wide shot at the beginning with the buildings, the lights by the water and the filter looked way too bright and you could see some modern buildings on the left behind the trees, but I have to keep in mind it's the directors cut so they haven't edited anything yet. Hopefully they just used the filters for this teaser and not for the official one. It ruins the vintage aesthetic for me.
I am assuming the shots in the teaser haven't been edited or touched on yet, as it is “sneak peak” teaser. I hope the post production team pulls through, cause the way some of the clips were shot was kinda giving short dramas and the wide shots of the buildings looked way too modern. But I am still excited lol
P.S, someone better keep an eye on where the budget will go as well, cuz it’s certainly not going to go in production that’s for sure
