Its the last 5 min that got people all frenzy.

Lord Xu with his cane reminds me of that evil lord from The Alladin. He also had scary cane.

Their team is exceptional. for real. skills, but also them as friends. amazing chemistry.

The best ML this year, I'm unwell when he's alone with FL. especially when he leans in closer, to see truth in her eyes when they talk. I know at this stage he is only scanning to see if she is worthy ally, but still...
And FL is so good in playing with fire.. such a cute face, bot so foxy and ahead of everyone. Not gonna be easy to catch this fox, even for an emperor.

After The Double, which is only drama I ever rated with a 10, and after that I looked for something similar, and I did find several.

But this one could be it. So far it looks as it could be 10, because chemistry is wooow. I'im unwell when he comes close to her🔥🔥

I completely understand, I dropped so many dramas for the spoon feeding and the rest of that cheap romance.
This is my list what gives that good vibey romance, where they both keep their characters, their flaws. And they both adjust a bit so it could work, and none of them is perfect or lovesick :D

Also, this drama if it keeps that way goes to this list, because so far is really good.

I called the list Powerful, unapologetic MLs, but they all have kindness, are nice people and have that rizz, flirty moments, sarcastic comments, they have character other then - I can fight and I'm lovesick.

Cute, calming drama after a long day - No depth in this one, just guilty pleasure

I won't write official review because I only write review for dramas that are more then 9/10, and really stay with you, you rewatch it, and you think about it, and one of the main characters somehow get stuck in your head. This one is not such.

So, what is good about it?
ML - Cha Eun Woo carried the show. ML is calm, and aloof. I think only Cha Eun Woo can handle aloof MLs and still keep us interested. He has expresive eyes, charisma, and if you are not familiar with the work of Cha Eun Woo - he can sell that ideal k drama boyfriend image that we all so like. He is a prototype of ideal K boyfriend. And in this drama he carries the show.
The drama itself was really good. Its relaxing, calm, has that positive effect on you. Even villains are calming, because they are ordinary people with ordinary problems and with common mistakes in communications, judgment and therefor conflict.

What is a minus?
FL - her main response to anything is: "aaaah", and long delays between next word. I easily learned Korean with her. Because her vocabulary is so basic and her pronunciation so slow, and repetitive that as a beginner I could learn hahahaha. Not the brightest FL, but cute, and easy going. (note: this is not about actress but about how FL character was written, I'm unfamilira with the rest of the work of actress)
That role was probably one of the easiest money ever earned. Literally 20 words in vocabulary to learn.

If your life is shit, and you're going through tough phase, this is one feel good drama. Cha Eun Woo is here to save the day :D

he is so dashing and strategic and a bit domineering - all characteristic fit for an Emperor- but also he is reasonable, also suitable for an emperor who wants to empower women.
But you can also see its a new concept to him too.

I love him since Hidden Love. But this drama has unveiled his dangerous side and he is so hot.

I love them. I rewatched episode 1 seveal times. that meeting of main couple is thrilling, they have so much rizz. and are both so hot.

It will be easier to say what you like and dislike.

If romance, what kind of romance?
If you look for physical romance (spoon feeding one another, bed wrestling while FL is saying oh please no....) then no.
If you look for rizz, and flirting, then there is. A lots, both have a lot to loose with trusting one another, but must collaborate because they need one another's talents and power.

If you look for schemes, there is enough to keep the plot and main couple mission focused and relevant. Its literally younger generations of visionaires and emperor who os for female empowerment, and old generations who are afraid of new and see it as downfall of kingdom - so quite realistic.

And there's bromance, this emperor has a great team of comrades. and FL is great asset to that team. She is much more then it meets the eye.

So no spoon feeding medicine or soup, no bed wrestling, almost kisses. No lovesick ML who lost his identity other then serving and protecting FL.
And I hope it won't be, because I'm not fan of such romance.

Main couple are great tandem - push, pull, sarcastic comments, alies, but also pawns to one another, they need one another's talent and power, but still don't trust one another because of previous bad experiences, but then again must collaborate.

All that with natural growing chemistry, and tensions, and lots of rizz.

FL is foxy, smooth talker, could talk her way out of anything.
ML is emperor, the most powerful man in the world, strong and smart, chesmaster, his moves are slower but careful.

Altogether also cutesy a bit. :)

Emeperor roles are always to stoic and powerful to be seen ad warm and kind in a sexy way. But this one somehow pull it of, and he has rizz.

I really hope your prediction is not gonna happen, I like it the way they go now, Emperor has no identity crisis, he knows he is the most powerful man in the world and he is using it well and accordingli. So far.

Its ok that you feel that way, therefor you should choose dramas that feed your current mood. But I disagree with you, because that would be a huge loss for us who deeply enjoy his performance here and in Fated Hearts. I personally think this is one of the best c drama ever. For real, and I love ML and FL. I think they are each in their aura. She is very smart kind and feminine, and he is very powerful strong and masculine.
