They kinda explain it in the first 6 episodes released but yes, ML was adopted into FL’s family, following his dad’s death (his dad was a close friend of FL’s dad). When FL’s parents divorced, FL stayed with the mom while ML went away with the dad. So FL and ML are not blood related, but they were raised as ‘siblings’
