You both have great taste—you’re clearly willing to give these two dramas a fair shot, and you’ve actually watched them. Why even argue? Honestly, Mango TV as a company is the real problem. Their PR team—especially the people managing overseas platforms—are either relatives of upper management or hired through connections. They collect their paychecks but do absolutely nothing. They’ve been relying on clunky machine translations for years with zero improvement. Their overseas subscriber numbers are miles behind WeTV and iQiyi, and they’ve become a global joke—yet they don’t care and aren’t the least bit ashamed. That platform is completely rotten.

The show has overtaken Overdo to claim the top spot. With its tightly woven plot and gripping narrative, it's utterly addictive.

This drama is seriously that good—totally worth it. I’ll be honest, I was pretty picky at first; the costumes in episode one weren’t as polished as I’d imagined, and I was low-key nitpicking and side-eyeing everything. But the deeper I got, the better it became—I just couldn’t put it down. In recent years, the only period dramas I’ve actually finished without dropping are Story of POB, POJ, and new one, Mo Li. This one absolutely deserves to be seen through to the end. That said, I totally get your struggle—I can’t even imagine trying to catch all the sparks and power struggles between those two with such awful subtitles getting in the way.

Are you still keeping up with Overdo? Because I’m literally hooked. I’ve looped the first few eps way too many times,.I’m just dying to hear what even more cringey, unhinged lines he’ll have to say in the new episode. I absolutely live for his crying scenes.

There’s really no comparison between Overdo and POJ—the quality gap is massive, plain and simple. The director and editor should be on their knees apologizing; they don’t deserve a single cent. That said… I binge-watched both anyway. One, because it’s genuinely excellent. The other? Because my favorite actor spends every episode delivering these absolutely cringey, over-the-top lines—all this thunderous, domineering, forced-love nonsense—and he cries. A Lot. Like, full-on wailing. Every. Single. Episode. In-universe, everyone beats him down, hurts him, slaps him across the face—he’s basically the punching bag for every NPC. And then in the BTS footage, you can see him cringing at how ridiculous those cheesy lines are… but he still has to perform them straight. I watch it with such mixed feelings, yet I literally cannot stop clicking “next episode.”

His lower lip is on the thicker side—even the slightest hint of color looks jarring on him. When he shares the frame with other male actors, you’ll notice their lips are actually redder, yet all the hate zeroes in on him. It’s mostly because this show is nothing but tight close-ups and extreme facial shots; every tiny micro-expression gets magnified tenfold. Sigh.

I’m obsessed with this—kind of addicted, honestly. I know these two actors will never stoop to this kind of trashy, over-the-top, unhinged melodrama ever again, and that makes it even more addictive. The thought of them filming these scenes, probably dying of secondhand embarrassment the whole time? It just cracks me up.
