Hi! It's a pleasure to read your message! I agree with you: I haven't been impressed so far by the latest releases. I found "Warm on a Cold Night" agreeably done with nice subversions of cliches. Thankfully, the FL is played by Li Yi Tong, because if she was played by anyone else, she would have been unbearable to watch.
Oh yes, Shao Shang from "Love Like The Galaxy"... I was disappointed by her character (and also by the drama), especially since the premices of the story were giving "Ming Lan" vibes with a more bold and cunning tone. Adding to this that she was being played by Zhao Lusi, I was really waiting to feast... What a shame she turned out to be bland, sulky and uninteresting. Haven't watched the two others dramas yet. "Meet Yourself" is on my PTW list! I've dropped "A Dream of splendor" because it was unimpressive and tedious but I may give it another try in the future... What did you think about this one?
Ming Lan is an interesting and a bit "unconventional" character but she's too obedient and serious. Not really my cup of tea. I've started "Who Rules the World" and I'm already charmed and amused by Feng Xi!
There is several other FL that I liked: - Si Xiao Nian from "The Killer Is Also Romantic": skilled spy, strong woman and relatable lady - Fu Shou from "Secret of Three Kingdoms": femme fatale, astute politician and sensible human being - Su Tan Er from "My Heroic Husband": ambitious business woman
I'll have to wait even more for "The Ingenious One" since it kills me to wait for the next episodes. When I binge I really do, so I try to refrain from watching currently airing dramas that I may potentially fall in love with. Unfortunately, no other dramas have me waiting passionately for, apart maybe "The Demon Hunter's Romance".
I honestly wish they adapted the novel into a movie rather than a drama version.. huaiji and Hui Rou's relationship…
I wish the novel was completely translated...What happened to Huaiji at the very end of the novel? His drama ending is not satisfaying at all. It seems that in the novel, we have a better understanding of his thoughts but he appears inscrutable in the drama. We only have a glims at his gratitude to the Emperor ? Besides, I read somewhere that Huaiji outlived Huirou and knew what happened to her after they were separated?
I don't think Kaede loves Moe. He probably bought her present because he heard she's going to order the expensive…
