and idk why bl watchers feel the need to sympathize with homophobic behavior constantly lol, both of them are written not to reflect real world bigotry, but softened cartoony one that the viewer is meant to forgive them for, so your opinion isnt some ground breaking think piece :), and is actually what the drama (and every other bl, that tries and fails to touch on homophia) wants. in context of the series its whatever behavior, but irl, no matter the time period or the culture, behavior that restricts freedom of others and paints them as unnatural should be criticized. that doesnt mean that you have to despise the people who have acted upon it, passively contributed to it, but you definitely shouldnt excuse their mindset and their acts :), like youre trying to do. we should expect people to be 'woke', otherwise extremist views will easily take root :) (i undersand that you meant that it was a different time back then, but it hasnt changed that much (which you pointed out by the -it wasnt in to be woke 10 years back sentence- ), queerness is still considered negative to some extent even in the wokest of regions and the negativeness that is associated with it worsens greatly in other parts of the world, and to excuse it, is to contribute to it in the current time). past bigotry is not something to be proud of and instead of trying to put yourself in the parents shoes, that only feel lesser societal pressure, try to put yourself into the childs ones :), the one that is not only victim of society, but also of their parents, in this scenario.

also regarding phobs mom, she is not at all concerned about his safety lol. this is a soap opera, so every character doesnt have much of a character other than one trait that defines them and hers is that she strongly believes in the class system. every objection that she raises against their relationship is tied to status and class, lol the whole skies and grounds stuff. shes not concerned about phob, but about tin, someone that is not her son, but in her eyes is someone more important, because he is upper class. shes accusing her son of sullying the nobel, because she views her son of being somewhat dirty because of a) homosexuality and b) being a commoner, but i think the way they wrote her, her grater concern is that he is a commoner :). do you still feel that you wouldve acted the same way? picked another child over yours because he has a title? :) (if status wasnt as important to her as it was(and she still held contextually bigoted beliefs), and her character was 'worrying about her childs safety', upon learning of their relationship, she wouldve blamed the prince for dirtying and grooming (and stuff like that) her child and would want to take him away, shield him from the evil gay prince lol. instead she did the opposite and wanted to shield the prince and his reputation from her evil gay son. )
but meh, this is bl, characters arent even gay, theyre just significant-other-sexual, so its whatever. but your comment touches upon real world, where people are indeed gay, so its not nice to have this mindset. sorry for the long rant!
:((((( sad how horribly it is made; the story seems good along with the symbols/metaphors that were used, but theyre shown badly, unartistically :((((. the scenes look awkward and boring from the way that they were filmed :((( jumping from scene to scene quite chaotically, audio is not good :(((
