I actually enjoy them making her prefer smaller close range weaponry. It makes more sense because she's only wielded…
Don't get me wrong, I love her close combat and that Xie Zheng forged her short sabers was beautiful. But in training, we know she's trained in spear fighting. Why not have it be like how we've seen Xie Zheng and Sui Yuan Qing and have her wield both? Spear for long range, then switch to her sabers for short range.
I totally understand this is FML driven drama, but somehow for me the scenes begin to really sparkle when ML is…
I really didn't think this was going to be FML-centric (but I haven't read the book). I thought it was going to be equal, which is what made the beginning so magical: they were doing things together. I love Chang Yu's journey, but Xie Zheng has basically become a side character in her story which is annoying. This drama was magical until about the end of episode 27. The dam portion was important and should've focused on her, but now that they're back together, their screen time together and apart should be equal. If we see her fight, I want to see his fights too. Let us see why he's such a famed Marquis rather than having us hear about the battle afterwards. Story-wise and enjoyment-wise, 28-30 were rough.
Little details really make this drama more enjoyable. Ex: When Chang Yu is getting off the carriage in her battle armor, Man Wu goes to help her down but she doesn't need it so he loops back around to the other guys in the back like nothing happened🤣🤣
I’ve seen a lot of people asking why Xie zheng doesn’t get many big battle scenes, and honestly I get it—I…
Totally agree. We already know he has no equal which is why it makes me chuckle when Chang Xin's men all say they'll claim his head. Like, where did they get that kind of arrogance? 😂 That said, at it's core, this drama is a romance with sprinkles of politics so I take it as is.
as a general ego and morale is really important.. CY’s actions on Li really harmed his pride. I actually thought…
It makes me so sad that he's mad at her. He would've been a really good ally for both Xie Zheng and Chang Yu. We could see that he longed to rebuild whatever camaraderie he had with Xie Zheng had they not been separated by their factions. That said, I understand his anger. I don't see him becoming an enemy, but if Xie Zheng and Chang Yu choose to leave Capitol life behind, he'll be a good mentor for Bao Er if they end up enthroning him.
Just love the main couple so much! I also love that they reversed the gender roles, not so much in how she's super independent but in how they provide for each other and balance one another out. When he needed her in the first half of the drama, she provided for him financially and physically. She fed and clothed him and literally wielded her knives to protect him. Now that we're heading into the last fourth and secrets will pour out, she'll need him but this time, he'll need to provide for her emotionally and mentally.
I am surprised he cares for his brother. I thought he fakes it & didnt really like him.
I get the sense that the Sui family at least was loving...to each other. It seems Chang Xin did love his wife and if the real Yuan Hai survived, maybe his dad would love him the way he loves Yuan Qing. He said Yuan Hai used to be cheerful and bright until the fire so maybe he senses something is off about this paranoid adult son.
With Yuan Qing being so young when his mom and bro died, he would only have this new version to grow up with and with Qi Min faking affection, it isn't surprising Yuan Qing loves him.
Yes, this fill-in-later tactic is distracting. We are supposed to be able to infer that something has happened…
Yeah, I'm not liking it either. Sadly, I think this drama will suffer from pacing in this final stretch due to only having 40 episodes. Since 27, it's felt like the editing has started to get choppy. Even the scene where Yan Zheng found Bao'Er felt abrupt and random.
I might have felt bad for Yuan Qing being so loyal to his "brother" who's actually not his brother and wants to kill him..too bad YQ is scum so he doesn't deserve any sympathy.
Is the extra scene with her new mark supposed to have occurred after their night fishing and we just weren't shown a kiss? It wouldn't make sense for it to happen after she decided to depart and he chased after her since she didn't return to camp. Unless I'm missing something.
We also didn't see him gift her her swords..unless we see it in a flashback tomorrow?? 🤞🤞

First her interpretation of the boiled bean poem..then Li Menkan..and Qi Beng gong 🤣🤣
I hope she doesn't lose that quirk
