Arthur has always been excellent in his role. Dono y ppl watch him with prejudice
I loved him in When Destiny Brings the Demon - not sure what is going on here. Script, directing, not his acting sweet spot - who knows. Its not working for him.
I am right there with you CV - Edward Guo has lost his own plot. This first round of episodes is like his wet…
I am happy to hear that. Both TJR and Cheng Lei - who played brothers in MJTU - give off such 'good-guy-at-heart' guys. Its hard to not want the best for them.
Gave this a real chance - 11 episodes is more than enough. What in goodness name is going on? This s+ht is just weird. Wanted to like it given all the peeks inside their romance outtakes on line. This, for me, turns out to be a nah - no thank you drama. Dilraba is a stunning as ever in her usual knock knock who's there acting style. Arthur, on the other hand, is absolutely dropping the acting ball mid-court. Can not remember the last time, in this caliber of a drama, I thought 'man needs acting lessons'. Makes a better model really - when they catch him in a frozen close up he looks hot - well until he smiles that crooked smile that looks JUST like his fathers and I can not tell the two apart. The directing is equally as bad which is a shame as its a female director and I am always up for supporting them - usually no matter what. This drama, unfortunately crosses the 'I just can not' line.
Before y'all bash me, I really need to say that all Guo Jingming's dramas are "all styles, no substances",…
I am right there with you CV - Edward Guo has lost his own plot. This first round of episodes is like his wet dream / music video / fashion shoot with too much silk drapery gone all the way wrong. That being said, My Journey to You is one of my all time favorites. Fangs of Fortune was mesmerizing to the point that I did not concern myself with the 'no substance' 'too many tears' truth of the drama - I enjoyed the heck out of it anyway. My biggest concern at this point is for SML Tian Jia Rui who signed a contract with this disturbed director. With so much acting promise its a crime to imagine him left in the hands of such a _____.
7.9 I see that I'm not the only one finding this drama underwhelming.ML & FL there characters are just there.…
Well said. I absolutely agree with you JJ, the pace of the story telling is off. It should be a better than good drama given the actors. I want to like it more than I do. For me its not the actors nor the production, its the director including having the ML & FL speak at each other with dead zone faces/expressions. I love how when someone has a reasonable personal opinion about why a drama is just so/so and it gets tagged troll commenting.
This drama is so enjoyable. Satisfying on many levels starting with the actors. This must be Cheng Lei's best roll to date. It feels like its actually him in real life as himself playing an actor. Have seen him prior to him blowing up and he has a quirky, measured, centered personality. My favorite is when he plays the emporer to the fullest - shouting and twisting his face. LUV. Wang Chu Ran in one of my top three favorite actresses - her face gives a thousand looks and her subtle yet strong acting skills make her an actress to be recond with . She was amazing in AYTO. LUV. The two of them are 'alike' in personal presentation and acting skills which makes them uniquely well matched - not the top top and still better than the top. Would already like to see them matched again in a more dramatic/serious drama.
It was both a yes and no for me. Unfortunetly more on the no side. I did appreciate the relationship between the two. It fell apart for me in the 'enemy' camp. Was a s-show. Still, in all fairness I did not watch the first season and I can imagine watching the third season.
Hard to get my head around in the first part of this drama. Its spinning with all the characters and plots/subplots. The acting and production quality is good so I am in for the long haul.
