No, he still didn't apologize properly to FL, his limp "I'm sorry" didn't cut it for me. FL is too forgiving…
she is out of her mind. and, he is as well - to some degree. both are luney tuney tune tune. they could both have a suffer off for goodness sake. not sure who would win. lets roll with the characters as they are presented vs what we want the 'reality' to look like / be. no?
NO - just plz no. He does not deserve being paired with this very little talent wooden wide-eyed actress (using the word actress loosely as it does not actually apply to her). Whom in goodness name is getting her these roles????? They should win an award for selling barely capable not all there wordsmiths at high prices.
This officially qualifies as my most mean comment of 2026. But is telling the truth mean?
okay, does everyone feel better today that the ML got his retribution for his over the top action/reaction? or, how about its heart wrenching for them each of them only he is aware of it and she is not. he is now carrying the burden for them both.
not sure if i have ever liked Bai Lu more than in this drama. the power of her nuanced character detailing is something to behold.
not to take away from Cheng Lei. those tears - oh my. note to self: my journey to you - episode 17 (12.38)
The one thing I do not appreciate is how quickly they had his hair turn gray. Not enough script supporting it. Or, it was left on the editing room floor. The shape of the new gray hair is also off putting.
The ML did not have an over reaction. He had an over action.
He promised her something he no longer believed she wanted or needed. A promise born from a lie on her part. His actions are reflective of him thinking that her walk towards him and with him for a brief period of time was fulfilled - the debt was done. He can walk and his family is in the 'clear'. In his minds eye - he loved her deeply and she loved him not at all. It was a matter of her feeling obligated to repair at least some of the damage brought to them both by her mother. And, it was true - until it wasn't. Who would hold onto someone you believe does not love you?
She could have told him the background of her mother's roll in his brother's death. Its a huge information gap that would take time to get his head around. In fact she knew she should have told him on two occasions (including running after him as he was on his way to hear the truth).
And, then there is the matter of the 30K soldier lives to account for.
The burden on them both is immeasurable. He was unloved/untruthed again. She was abandoned again.
this drama turned into a nice surprise. loving the fight scenes - so far. production quality is good too. Yang Yang is almost too pretty and its mesmerizing. looks like the FL showed up to act her socks off. lets see how this develops. fingers crossed.
Gosh I have never seen this ML but gosh he is damn fine, one of the most handsome Chinese actors yet.
Someone said earlier that he looks a bit like a youngerTakeshi Kaneshiro - and all the sudden he does. I like the ML best when he is all about the percision swordfight (Legend of Heroes).
I think Chen Feiyu did an amazing job in his role, but, him smiling was annoying lol. kinda took away the coolness…
Agree with your point about 400. Her face - as many times as it was on the screen - did look the part. Think that is a better way to make my point. 😂 I enjoyed Chen Feiyu in When Destiny Brings the Demon. It suited his voice, style, and an 'unhappy/serious' face on him is more attractive.
Tried to watch. Found the first episode instinctually stomach churning. The effect did not wear off. Its not possible to continue - for all the reasons previously identified by others here on the site (e.g., age). Its unfortunate as I am an almost fan of Li Yun Rui. Fingers crossed he gets better at picking projects.
Tian Jia Rui is an acting savant. A pure hearted person comes through underneath whatever role he is acting in. Reminding me once again of why he and Cheng Lei connected so well on MJTY - like hearted men in a less-than-hearted Cdrama industry. Makes me want the personal best for both of them.
The director had, once again, his very own wet dream with someone else's money. Good for him. Setting aside reports of his monstrous temperament, the fact that he had so many injuries and near injuries on the set of this drama lets us know just how much he values his 'cut out figures' of men he wishes for. He used a 'complicated' story line to justify moving his Ken dolls around and changing their outfits which was and was not eerie. The twisted - his twisted - comes through loud and clear. Twisted and yet still interesting.
On a side note - its the first time finding Joseph Zeng even quasi attractive. That was a nice bonus.
Finally, Ju Jing Yi found her ultimate once in a life time drama/character/acting match. Not all 'okay actors' are afforded such a prize.
This was not for everyone. It had its ups and downs. For me mostly down. The 'match' did feel like auntie/nephew. His acting was subpar. Looking forward to him getting better or focusing on movies. All the smiling scenes did not help - its not his 'handsome face'. He looks and acts better in a 'somber mood'. She looked bored through most of this - character persona aside. Bored and 'oldish'. The youthful sparkle is gone and she is finally a bonafide femme fatale. She should leave her face alone - as is - for a while and run with this new 'mature' strength.
Hate on arthur all you want, its not going to affect him. He needs acting lessons, oh you need new eyes. Going…
Nonsense. Per usual. Where is the hate? Been on this site for years and posting for nearly a year now. Its my opinion. Nothing on his father either. They share the same facial structure / mouth. How is that unusual or an insult? I have no issue either way with Arthur. IMO - his acting in this particular drama is subpar. Its why we are here BTW - to share our opinion.
Arthur has always been excellent in his role. Dono y ppl watch him with prejudice
I loved him in When Destiny Brings the Demon - not sure what is going on here. Script, directing, not his acting sweet spot - who knows. Its not working for him.
