Know it does not really matter and that I am repeating myself yet again when I say that HL was not in love with Mo. Its not that he did not care for her, that he was not fond of her, or that he did not think of her again in the future. Its that, at the time, he had no experience with romantic feelings nor did he want to. At the center of his being/world, his life compass, was cultivation. That was the filter that he saw the world through. He controlled his feelings and made his decisions based on his cultivation. If you need to call it first infatuation or even puppy love then okay. Maybe its more correct to call it sad unrequited love which viewers seem to be reponding too.

Future reference: his first love, his first wife, was Nangong Wan. The only woman he ever claimed independently - thats my woman and I am going to go get her (and kill people in the process if I have to). As we watch this drama they have already spent a lifetime together - we are actually introduced to them here in the drama on their second lifetime together (time travel/reincarnation). If there is a season 2 or 3 then we should get to part of their love story. If not then please read the books because not even the dongue has gotten there yet. Or wait out the dongue as the HL/NW story will heat up sooner than you can get through a part of one book.

Note: before anyone in fandom gets agro - he took at least one more wife and he had an accidental concubine (no contact).

There is no FL. If she was listed as a support roll what would the issue be? Currently, as PeachBlossomGoddess suggests - maybe its time to take it up with her agent. Assuming they had a look at the script and the depth, or lack thereof, of her involvement and screentime then maybe booking her as the FL was way off the mark. The drama has not and will not get to the NW story.

Don't mind it but don't love it so it is leaving me dissapointed. Wanted to love. Waited to love it. That is probably my biggest problem with the drama at the mo. Its just not 'there'. Will continue to watch and see how it goes. And, it does not bother me at all to have to suspend belief in the female character as a man and/or general. Taking it at face value.

it is better than the current rating. though, for me, its more like a 8.0/8.1 at this point. the group dynamics is one of the best parts with each giving their acting all. am tired of the poisen troupe spin.

agree. the war scenes in the dongue are more dense, intense, colour saturated and 'real'. in some instances they are actually 'smoother' actioned too.

Not a big fan of Yang Yang though he is truly perfect for this roll. He really is HL. Helps to make a mediocre drama bearable.

he says no and she does not change her behavior during the fated encounters. she is 100% hung up on him and does chase him when they meet. put it into the context of the 'time' they are living in.

Its both their responsibilities. Its not going to happen. It is she who pushes it when they have 'accidental' encounters. If it were the other way around would it be considered offensive? How many ways and times does he have to say get over it? Even if he does have feelings for her. That is not the point. His focus is on cultivation. He has nothing to offer her.
