The epitome of a healing drama

This drama really struck me different. It reminded me of the joys that life has to offer even though loss and hardship is inevitable. Watching an episode or two calmed a lot of my anxieties. The series did a great job of making you feel a connection with the individual characters and with the village as a whole.

I tend to be pretty picky about the pacing of a drama (especially C-dramas) but the pace of Meet Yourself is quite perfect. A review I read on here described it as meditative at times which is a great way to put it. It's not exactly fast paced, super exciting, or dramatic. Instead it focuses on more realistic interpersonal matters and some big life lessons. And even though some of the subject matter can get quite deep, the overall tone stays lighthearted and happy. After watching an episode or two I was always left feeling a little happier to be alive which sounds a bit dramatic, I know, but I'm telling you this one just hit me different!

There is a lot of side characters that you get to know throughout the series. To me most of the side character stuff fit in very well and did not feel like filler or get boring. I liked how some showed up only every few episodes and it felt like "hey there's a familiar face", like running into an acquaintance you enjoy. And some you get a lot closer to. To be completely honest there were maybe 2-3 scenes I skipped through in some of the later episodes where I was just uninterested in the conversation they were having, but that's pretty damn good considering how many other dramas bore me to the point of skipping to only bits where theres development in the romance lol.

I very much enjoyed the music in this series, in fact after writing this I plan on putting most of the soundtrack on my playlist. It's also nice having a musician character who doesn't overdo it on the singing but instead we get a nice song from him every once in a while. I often get bored when someone sings a whole ass song in the middle of a show but I found his song moments to be pleasant. I will say though that with any drama with this many episodes you run the risk of overplaying the themes. I think if you were to binge this the songs might get annoying but I watched probably 1-3 eps a day and didn't have this problem. Also there's this one song that talks about a horse as a metaphor for the heart and says "I'll give you the saddle of my heart" and this made me giggle a little but they use this song in some serious parts so it took me out a little hahah but I actually don't mind the song despite the lyrics being funny to me.

ANYWAYS tldr; watch this show, it is happy, lovely, beautiful, healing.

Very entertaining and visually captivating

This show is like the book The Selection meets The Bachelor meets Squid Game, which I found to be very entertaining.
I am a fan of shorter series but I felt like the story could've gone a lot deeper and there could be twice the episodes. The plot and stories have SO much potential so part of me wishes we got a little more but I don't wanna complain. I loved the overall vibe of the show- it made me laugh quite a few times and stayed pretty light hearted despite some of the darker things you discover are going on.

Visually this show is incredible. The colors. The lighting. The unique camera work. The sets and locations. It is BEAUTIFUL and so cool to watch. I really appreciate all the detail that went into making this series look like a work of art.

I don't think I'm in any position to judge acting, I think everyone did pretty great. There were only a few moments where the pacing of the scene just seemed off enough for me to notice, but this is just me being nit picky and I don't think it took away from my enjoyment of the show.

TLDR; give this show a watch! There's no way you won't be entertained, it's very bingable, and visually fantastic!

Sweet and fun romance I've been waiting for

This show is just wonderful, it made me smile so much. It's perfect if you're looking for fluff romance and friendship. There's little to no conflict in the story which is what I crave sometimes, but other dramas that attempt this style have bored me. Not this one.

Characters- I found everyone to be very likable. The FL was a little obsessed with ML and fell in love at first sight which usually bugs me a bit, but you could tell Su Zai Zai just knew what she wanted and went after it confidently. ML is the quiet, no smiling type but he didn't push her away and was never mean. The second couple is also very lovable and fun to watch. It made me smile to watch all the moments these friends shared together. Each character has their strengths and weaknesses and are never tied down to a two dimensional trope.

Story- I'm pretty picky about the length and speed of dramas. I've found especially with C-dramas they tend to drag on too much and I end up dropping them. But I very much enjoyed how this one was paced and didn't fast forward once! It was beautiful to watch these characters grow from adolescence to adulthood. Sometimes dramas skip ahead too much in later episodes so you can see how they ended up and it feels rushed and not genuine. They did skip ahead quite a bit but i didn't have the same feeling, I was just happy to see their happily ever after. Also I LOVED the aspect of the camcorder, it kept things interesting and gave things a nostalgic and personal feel. Oh also have to shout out any drama that has basically 0 miscommunication/misunderstanding trope, thank the lord.

TLDR- beautiful fluff romance, great to escape to a happy world.

My new #1 drama hands down

This show is just exactly my cup of tea. All my favorite tropes, none of the crappy ones (IMO). It's a wonderful enemies to lovers with a STRONG female lead, it's just *chef's kiss*
Usually if I REALLY like a drama I'll rewatch it about a year later, but I've already watched this I think 3 times.
It's very funny and lighthearted a lot of the times. Theres quite a bit of physical comedy which I don't see a lot of lately and I love it. But it also touches on some deeper topics and you see a more in depth view of the characters. It's not too short and not too long, perfectly bingeable. AND THE MUSIC is phenomenal. It is very very rare that a drama's music will stand out to me at all, but I swear the 3rd time I watched this was 90% because of the music. They use a unique, funky acapella style which may sound weird on paper but it totally works, it gets me hyped up and I even start to sing along to some of the motifs.
Love to Hate you is just all my favorite things about Kdramas wrapped in one
