i see many people comparing this to someday or one day, i disagree. SOOD focuses on two things, the complex thriller…
While I agree that SOOD was a more complex story with an altogether different tone, LR was not so very simple too. The mystery part was regarding SJ and Sol's past, with his connection to her and how his crush on her, which she was entirely unaware of, led to a disastrous event for her, and how SJ has to cope with the guilt of how his feelings led to his crush getting hurt. The OG SJ has my heart with how much he suffered and how meeting her again in the first episode reminded him of this huge event which changed both their lives, and now ironically Sol is telling him she's a fan of his. Pretty tragic in itself, which is why I'm so glad he retained memories of all his timelines and got to experience happiness. Another thing I noticed was that the time travel rules may not be very complex but they were consistent throughout. Things that are destined usually have a way of happening, even if there is some delay or a difference in how the things are brought about. So, for example, SJ had to become an idol and so he did, even if he was getting delayed in getting to that point of meeting the CEO. And he has to get entangled with the psycho and later on murdered by him, which was going to occur in the final timeline as well (almost getting run down by his taxi), even without the trigger of Sol being affected or hurt.
Anyway, since I've been missing Lovely Runner a lot and had diverted my attention to watching episode reactions,…
I've literally become a patreon member of all of theirs since I can't get over this show 😅 and also cuz I'm on vacations. Nothing else holds my attention anymore, and I've been going through a really rough patch and I feel like I'm barely hanging by a thread because of this show... I looove YBRL reactions since they're really having fun with the show and not over-analyzing things. BBAB are great too!
