A flaw of this drama that I looked over initially but feel would've made a difference to audience satisfaction…
I totally agree! I see what you mean. Like when they had casted him in Bon Appetit Your Majesty as Bai Long, it had worked out so well because we all expect Jinmu level evilness from his character but he turned out to be the good one. That was a great surprise element!
In so many cases if they cast a big actor as the antagonist but also want to maintain the suspense behind their identity, it doesn't work because viewers just expect this actor to have a big role.
Does anyone else feel that Ahn Hyo Seop’s acting has not been very natural in this drama?
Okay… hear me out! I have been keeping up with his dramas since Abyss and I keep seeing inconsistent performances somehow? His acting has been fantastic in Dr. Romantic, A Time Called You, and Business Proposal (BP’s tone really worked in favor) but his acting seemed too forced in Abyss (he was very new at the time, so understandable), Lovers of the Red Sky, and Sold Out On You.
We usually see a gradual improvement in skills but somehow in AHS’s case, he keeps going back and forth. Maybe the direction and editing in Sold Out On You just didn’t compliment his comedic acting, the way Business Proposal’s did.
I bet the poison is in Huiju's lipstick. I would still doubt Areum as she could have slipped it in any time while handling the stuff. When they spoke about lipstick shades, the camera panned towards her very guilty face.
It’s so funny how this has turned out to be the second time I read something and went: My thoughts exactly… and turns out it was from you! We agreed about Pro Bono too
Everything this review expressed was so accurate and exactly how I had been feeling after reading the bad reviews and people defending those reviews in this comment section. The drama title is literally, ‘Pro Bono’ which WILL largely involve cases on human rights violations. Nothing misled you to watch this. If you dont like it, don’t engage with the content, SIMPLE. You don’t have to go out of the way to rate it so bad either. As someone whose profession is very much embedded in the kind of cases they handle in the series, I felt very reassured watching this and such a voice and perspective are very much needed in the media.
Yeah yeah we get, it's progressive or whatever. Which seems like the only reason anyone gives it a 10/10
Rather than progressive, it's bringing in some accurate representation in spaces where there is little to no respectful representation for people with disabilities. Portraying disabilities and mental health without mockery and ableist jokes is not 'progressive,' it's the bare minimum expected of creators. If you sit and interpret everything that happened in this show, you'll realise there is so much more to it and I'm sure there are aspects of it that others who gave it a 10/10 have also loved and explored in their reviews. Since you took the time to comment on this review, I suppose you could check out other all-star reviews too, go ahead!
It don't make sens to write a review on episode 1.
Hello, these are just people's initial thoughts about the drama. The review can be edited as more episodes get released. But commentaries in the review section really help other watchers to pick or drop a drama. I mean, you are here too, aren't you?
