Genuinely underrated. The relationships between all character, the main and side couple, hxy and his dad, chw and the doctor, lwz and his mother and basically the cast was done with exceptional sensitivity. It felt like actual quarrels and acts of love I'd see with my family.

Revenge, redemption, karma. These are some of the central themes to suns/yohana character. He blames himself for his mother's and brothers death. He is in grief but also wishes to hurt even more thus why he's basically just doing whatever regardless of whether he wants to or not.

On the surface him studying at harvard and him being 27 isn't that weird, maybe the age part but mostly solvable if he was upfront about it but he even admitted to doing "favours" for people. So i think the whole "red flag but im colour blind" singing guy wasn't lying lol. Because he knows everything (maybe not the true extent) but still chooses to look the other way. Put probably has first hand experience with one of big janes "favours". Lil jane is digging his own grave and we can't stop him.

Also props to Tee who plays Big Jane. His eyes look so malicious it's actually disturbing. Especially when lil jane doesn't do something his way or when he questions him. Specifically when he found the blood pact necklaces.

The second couple being used to tell qinlangs backstory with yuhao is creative. They mostly cut to them whenever qin langs farmer simulation is disturbed by a phone call snapping him back to reality. That way they have a second cp and a backstory without unnecessary flashbacks and drama because this show is more about him healing and finding life in the mountains.

Is it just me, or is the sound mixing just weird. I can hear the bg noises turning off and on when the character speak. And the dubbing is kinda monotone for jay.

In the novel, Lu feng is the most shittiest character to ever exist. He has raped and beaten up yi chen multiple times so do you really want to discuss the betrayal of lu feng when he deserves to be sent to jail?

I feel like yi chen's silent struggles should be obvious if you took a moment to truly understand him but everyone is too busy woe is me-ing lu feng because his battle is loud and angry. But you are right. Throughout the novel we see how pessimistic and unlovable yi chen feels and how all his insecurities and fears level the playing field to guilt trip him into relationships and sacrifices he makes. He is a truly pathetic character that feels entirely depressing to watch. He does severely need to stand his ground but is he ever truly given the space to? On the other hand, why does everybody gloss over Lu fengs disregard for yi chens feelings? The rape and assault? Are we all watching the same show or did some people just watch with rose coloured glasses during lu fengs scenes.

you don't rape someone you love...i hope you knew that and don't hold the same beliefs in real life. I love how everyone downplays the rape, near cheating, tying up and what all those actions to someone you "love" indicates but yi chen has done the most unforgivable crime of being flawed. It's not love, it's obsession and control. Let's not dilute it to just "SA and nothing else" as if it was an accident.
