First time watching. I’m enjoying it so far - but- his clothes !!!! I know it’s 10 years old but he’s dressing from the 70’s ! ☺️. Some of those outfits hurt my eyes 😂😂

The transaction with WRH was glossed over. (Editing ?) I thought it was a ploy - since he’d tried to get with her again with the flowers and note, and pleading. I thought she had paid him what she owed -,well most of it. Then Fei Fei buys the place.. Shes annoyed yet doesn’t question the fact that he’s supposed to be poor ! Too many inconsistencies, to the point of frustration. I wish the screenwriters had concentrated on the main leads more. Too much screen time for racist momma. I liked the actor playing Jun in Youth Memories but he was poorly cast in this. Let’s see what tomorrow brings 😊.

I know it’s AI - but Wang Ruohai’s face, and lack of emotion, is seriously off putting. Even the voice is loud and echoes. I would have thought the production team could have done better.

If you want to se his serious side he has a role in Growling Tiger Roaring Dragon. It’s an historical drama about the Sima Yi family. He’s the slightly twisted son - Sima Zhou. He gets more screen time towards the middle-end of the series. It’s from 2017 so he’s quite young, but shows his acting chops. Very different, and serious. The whole series, Advisors Alliance was part one, is a tour de force of 3rd century Dynasty drama.
Brilliantly done ! Though not as actual as it was ( that feat would have been impossible ) this series, and the prequel The Advisors Alliance took me on a voyeuristic journey through many ages. Kudos to the actors, crew, director and screenwriter. I had Wiki on speed dial 😊. If you enjoy historical content then this is for you. 👍👍
Anyone else think Zhou yi Ran seems to be sleepwalking through his role ? Perhaps it’s the screenwriters fault but his character seems wimpy. Yes he can fight, but the chemistry isn’t chemistrying.
On episode 14, and im just about done with this mother ! I thought I could empathize with her loss and all, but she’s downright nasty to her kids ! I realize it’s probably a culture thing - but the attitude is relentless - with no thought or care for the kids feelings. It’s frustrating - I wonder what Old He saw in her. 😒
