Terribly misguided... with one of my favourite characters ever!

This is my first review on this site and I hope to write more in the future. This is one of those Lakorns where I went in and expected nothing but stay for one of the most interesting characters ever developed in Thai Television. When I started watching the show I immediately had my doubts that the actress cast as the FL would be able to hold my attention for the next 34 episodes. Her blatant bad personality was so off-putting that nearly dropped this by episode 6. The over the top reactions of the FL in every situation really gave me a lot of negative feelings. And with the addition of one of the most annoying and misguided ML in the history of Lakorns made their whole dynamic difficult to watch. I feel that between the ML and FL in this case it would have been better if one of the two were at least semi likable. That is not to say there is nothing I liked about the two together and it would have been much more enjoyable if the creators didn't insult the audience with bad writing choices throughout the series.

That said, I did give this series a much higher rating despite my disappointment with some parts of the show went. The sole reason for that is the writing of one of the best characters that I have seen in a while. That is of course the mother of the ML. Most of the plot for the story revolves around decisions that she makes. Our main characters are greatly influenced by her decisions and a lot of the comedic relief for the show comes from her. In fact, I liked her so much that there was a point in the show where I wished the story actually revolved around her and the father of the ML as they were generally more likable than the leads. I think the actress playing the mother really did a wonderful job and definitely won me over and I became so excited whenever she was on screen. I honestly wish there was a lakorn dedicated to a woman in a mental hospital and her husband trying to win her back. Furthermore, there weren't any other characters that stood out too much, except for perhaps the sister of the FL whom I really sympathized with. It is difficult to let go of the person you love even if they treat you badly and people are not always strong enough to fight for there dignity. I feel like her character was in some ways the most relatable throughout the series.

So would I recommend this? I would definitely have a recommend this if you like a lot of shouting and screaming. Okay, I'm being a bit dramatic throughout this review. I did in the end enjoying watching the show and I felt there was some character development from the FL that redeemed her by the end. But there were so many other highlights and funny moments from secondary characters I would almost give this a higher rating. The only thing to consider is that there should be a major trigger warning for rape and abuse for sensitive viewers. I didn't talk about these things to avoid spoilers and not to upset readers. This is a very sensitive issue which is difficult for me to talk about. I also haven't seen the 2006 version of this, but I might try to find it more comparison at a later stage.
