We're just gonna have to respectfully agree to disagree. Haven't watched all of it obviously cause it just came out. Will have a better idea of the show once finished. But as long as people's beliefs are not ridiculed or made fun of, I don't think I have a problem with it. If they are I might understand your perspective a bit more.
Genuine question, do you think most black people would care how any white person does their hair? I've listened to many and most don't. Personal opinion now: I think those kind of hairstyles look best on people of the black community. On another note though, sometimes culture appropriation is mistaken for cultural appreciation I think. Some people like some cultures so much they try to copy some elements out of honest love for it. This is where I stand: intention matters. Like I said in an earlier comment, in today's world where communities are intertwined it's expected for elements of different cultures to blend together. That's the beauty of life. We're not islands standing alone.
I'm not the one getting triggered over a freaking fictional genie. Watching dramas all day? Can't do that with a full time job. I'm old enough to know that life is already difficult, and I shouldn't try to dictate how others do their hair or say. Peace.
Never in my adult life have that thought crossed my mind. Such a weird question. Do I believe in freedom of speech?? YES. Do I think we should be calling people slurs? Well, it's not nice, is it? But you do you I guess.
yes, only because nobody should cry over any kind of culture appropriation post-globalisation, and I'm referring to all groups of people here. No one is special.
