I would recommend Story of the Kunning Palace, bcz the male lead was a huge red flag ππ. But unlike this show, it was a good ending. Edit - The King's woman is also a goood oneeee

I have said it to numerous of people, TSJ had so many fucking flaws, I was truly disappointed by how his character played out at the end of the show. He had times he never kept his promise to XY and needed to just take a step back and use that damn brain of his. And to reply to your first comment.

I also get this part. XY loved them both, my point to everyone is too see that TSJ was truly the best fit for her. I have even told Kotuto earlier, if XL left his duties, and truly never had a strong loyal character, TSJ would have had ZERO chance. XL would have been the end game. But he didn't, so if he didn't why bother?

Honestly I agree with this. At some point I even got tired of her being with all these men. She should have just left and pursed her life like she wanted so many times. You also said something earlier : "But if not XL, I thought Feng Long was a much better choice than Jing. He agreed to her criteria, he was relatively trauma free, he could have helped her heal, and they could have built on their relationship of respect and friendship."
Honestly Feng Long was the only decent guy in this story, but there was zero romance between them π. If they had truly gotten married, maybe it would have been for the best, but like u said "the superficial romance dressing of the book / drama wouldn't allow for that." π
The amount of people that is mad about the ending, but FAIL to realize what is it was saying to the audience is crazy. Their deaths had a purpose, and it shaped how this entire season change people. But yea ig..stay mad..?
Jing is not flawlesss but sometimes things are out of his way too. But that kind of unfortunate thing can happen…
THANK YOUUU!! As I even said earlier, the type of love YaoJing have is an adaptable love. That is why they were a much better fit. They would both adapt to each other, which is better than a tragic love(XL), or eternal yearning(CX), and a person that she never loved (feng long)

Since the beginning of the show, I had my ups and down with this show and it mainly because of XY character, and the way she did things. But I still loved her and still saw through her character. I went for YaoJing because I KNEW he could be someone who would put her first and care for her (even tho he fucked that up so many times)
I won't deny it, if XL had left his duties, TSJ would have zero chance to ever be with XY. But please, he was never going to put XY first. That was what I even wanted alongside with XY, A man that would her first. TSJ is that person, and yes he failed once or twice ( I forgot how many) but he adapted and didn't fail her and won't fail her.
