When I watched it for the first time I also disagreed with the way the plot went. I could see that SanHa never thought of her as a sister so as a viewer it was easy to accept that he wanted to be together with her as a couple. But I couldnt see how Juwon could accept him as her boyfriend and like him romantically. It didnt sit right with me especially how they spent so little time on her forgiving him and then almost immediately accepting him as her lover. But when I rewatched it all the signs were there. She wasnt aware when she was little/growing up but its clear when you rewatch it that she didnt see San-Ha as her brother. She just knew that he was a very important person to her but she didnt know in what way until she realised later that it was romantic love. If she had always seen San Ha as her brother then of course she would have never accepted his feelings. We can see this in the way she reacts when Hae-jun brings up marriage. Thats why I think its important that that scene is shown so the viewers can also understand how different her love was for Hae-jun compared to San-Ha. The problems I had with this series: 1. The pacing. They needed to give more time for the characters to forgive each other and to get used to change 2. The way the adults dont help with San-has situation with his mother. What do you mean he was the only one that could stay with his mother after the accident and all his dad could do was be angry about it. Also how could his uncle ask San-ha to take care of his mother?? And even if this was the only option what do you mean it lasted for 10 years??? Everyone knew that she was unbeliavably toxic and yet they just accepted it and did nothing about it, only talked to her a bit and thats it? 3. I would like for Hae-jun to first get comfortable with the idea that he had a family even though they werent blood-related and that he is loved and deserves happiness like any other normal person. And then maybe introduce the mother to the picture. Because it seems like he only found happiness after he realised his mom never wanted to abandon him.
