Kind of Anticlimactic but Good

Wu was the show I was most excited for along with TTH when gmm2025 was announced and fresh off watching HSF back then, I was super pumped bec I knew SkyNani do justice to scripts.

EP1 was super intense with great cinematography, good CGI and I loved the introductory ritual to the point I watched ep1 almost everyday until ep2 was aired.

Ep2 had some weird conversational flaws where it seemed like there were too many awkward pauses before the characters would continue their line but I don't believe it is the actor's faults but rather than the director's. I do believe SkyNani are great actors and they do have crazy on-screen chemistry, no wonder they blew up. I think I've re-watched HSF atleast 10 times.

Nani obviously had more emotionally taxing role in this series and you could see it drained him out. His possession and action scenes were still amazing but Nani who actually blew up bec of his emotional acting in HSF, his emotions in this show were kind of lackluster especially in ep7 where Niran disappeared I just couldn't emotionally connect to his acting. He did an amazing job in ep6 where he confronted Niran about his sister and whether if he betrayed him. That was my fav scene in the whole series. One thing SkyNani can do perfectly is to act the angst out.

Krist the actor you are. I was so impressed by his acting. He outdid everyone in the show but ep 8 was so rushed and his death was so rushed like they could've made episode bit longer and gave him a proper ending considering he was the main villain for most of the show.

The ritual scenes Sky performed were really good, Nani's action scenes were amazing as always, CGI was amazing for most of the show except the fog one. The side characters were truly side bec they had no story of their own whatsoever except Fei and Great. I just couldn't grasp the found family feeling they were trying to show.

All in all, I think the show would've been better if the eps were longer so the story could be fleshed out completely. As a big HSF and SkyNani fan, I also know that director also played a huge part in it feeling meh bec Fon might be notorious for dragging the filming but delievered a perfect show without any flaws while this show did has its flaws. I did enjoy watching it tho ngl.

I've no complains about ep9. I think it was wrapped up well and the montage of their moments at end even made me emotional. All in all, longer eps and better direction would've uplifted the already good series.

A SATISFYING WATCH

I made this account especially for this drama because I wanted to write a review.

This might be the most satisfying K-Drama I've watched in a good while. The male actors slaps are so therapeutic that I cannot express in words. The rage I would feel in each episode but the ending always satisfied me.

One thing that was a miss was Yeri's storyline. I do believe that there might be instances where male teacher could be falsely accused for SA but in this day and age where perpetrators are almost always trusted upon rather than the victims the execution could've been better especially if they showed us that she was actually assaulted by her teacher from foreign high so we could understand her better.

The juvenile offender guy might be the most ANNOYING kid I've seen and his ending was so satisfying. As an Asian kid the ep with the mom and their constant pestering to be a doctor hit so close to home and it was the only ep I cried in.

Inspector Im Harim's screams were so satisfying. I've seen some mixed reviews about her character but personally I loved her. I also believe the romance sub-plot was not necessary but its not like it was character defining or something. She was so goated anyways.

Overall it was a solid drama and I stood up in my room and applaused after finishing it.
