Yes, 99.9% of these BLs are pure fantasy.But I also don't see the need for Europe or Hollywood to make so many tragic scripts involving gay people. Every now and then, a Red White and Royal Blue is good too.

And that's one of the reasons why I think LGBT rights are taking so long to modernize in these countries. In Korea, famous and well-known actors don't play gay roles. Japan, which is in the G7 group of the world's richest countries, is the only one lagging behind in LGBT rights.

I think if we look at it from a capitalism angle (selling the couple/ship), it’s definitely more aimed at the Thai audience. But as for understanding the story, I don’t think so… unless there are some shaman rules we don’t know about
