This drama is just the best. Each episode always ends with a bang, and I think this is a testament to the production team's dedication to nailing the pacing, hitting just the right amount of comedy, love and sincerity, precisely, every single time. You can tell just how much effort the writer, the director and the actors poured into making this drama. Speaking from experience, we the audience tend to get wary of how an ongoing drama can suddenly take a sharp turn and go downhill especially when heading towards the second half, but with everything shown so far, I think that we are in good hands here.
She was just trying to help the old manand the grandson that later came didn't go with her, instead he went after…
Is getting lost after helping an old person with dementia being useless and stupid? We've been shown her backstory, she is resourceful yes, but she is also not without trauma. Her experiences in life have made her afraid of darkness, and so her freaking out in the forest is not out of the blue, there just so that Segye could save her, I think it's an understandable outcome of what she's afraid of. It goes to show that she's only human. I'm thankful we had this scene here in episode 6. We've seen how strong a person Dansim is, how she could survive the modern world, even winning in a fight against a group of thugs, but I also think that another thing about living is that you don't have to be strong all the time? It's okay to have someone on your side. In fact, I think we all need each other's back. We've seen Dansim save Segye, so why shouldn't he, her, when she's so paralyzed by her fear and in need of help?
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain. I was getting way ahead of myself. Yes they will be in the same drama, but at what cost? 😭 Her character sounds influential to the story, and his, a complex one. Hope the drama would allow them to showcase their respective acting abilities and get them more love!
people on rednote are talking about how much attention to detail the production has, so I thought I’d share…
In episode 1, when Segye and Seori fought by the side of the road, flower petals were showering down on them. After that Segye went back to his office with Secretary Son, and you can still see those petals caught in Segye's hair. Dang, that was so CUTE.
Cha Segye is already acting so insane like this when he hasn't even realized that he's fallen for Seori. I can't imagine how he will be like later when he has completely folded and come to terms with it..... Oh, what about when he fully remembers Hyun's memories..... I'm afraid (positively) for the man he will become.....
Also one thing I am seeing people talking about how fast she adapted to the modern society. No she did not she…
Totally agreed. It's already established that Dansim is very resourceful and smart anyway. We don't need to see how she learns how to do every single thing in the modern world. Aaaaaand, I have a feeling if the drama did that as opposed to showing something new about her character or moving the plot forward, people would've said the story was dragging anyway.
Lovely Runner has got to be the best drama I've seen in a while, really... Last time I enjoyed a story to This degree it was My Liberation Notes, which has a completely different genre. I guess this is why I'm still invested in K-dramas, after all this time. Because once in a while, you get to find gems... Gems which speak to you and "seep through the soul". This year, Lovely Runner, easily, is it. Oh I'll hold it forever dear to my heart.
Everyone, do check out the making video that was just released today to see the chemistry between Kim Jiwon and Son Sukku. Ugh, how I wish they'd get paired off again one day. Seriously their talents and chemistry are like precious gifts to me... https://youtu.be/g-e33HdZArU
Does this drama have a happy ending? I don’t like sad/frustrating endings?
It doesn't have a happy ending in the traditional way the term is used in reference to Korean dramas, but personally I'd still like to categorize its ending a happy one. Or at least a hopeful one.
