After a drama slump (same old same old romance blah, or poorly done suspense where logic is thrown out the window), this has been a really great drama. So Ji Sub is excellent of course and so is the side cast. Teach You A Lesson was pretty good in recent dramas and now this one started off excellent.
As a firm supporter of Palestine's independence and liberation from the evils of Israel, I think sending messages to the drama producers/writers about there terrible mistake is warranted. However, that is a separate issue from the drama. The actors did not choose that line and it speaks to US imperialism more than anything else and possibly Netflix bullshit.
I would probably rate the drama 9 out of 10 thus far, but had to give it a 10 because of the crazy people downvoting this while upvoting the most mid romance fantasy garbage. The only reason I would take 1 point off so far is the long back stories re: North Korea (the CGI to make actors look young doesn't work and actually makes it look worse, just use a younger actor ffs, and too many characters added who seem extraneous/guest appearances and just piling on. Give us more So Ji Sub and friends messing shit up and less evil bad guys saying the dumbest shit and making poor choices).
Otherwise I already felt such strong hatred for a certain blondie and am hoping for more total and complete vengeance from the trio.
Hyeri looks perfect as a high school aged girl (she has those eternal youth genes) but he looks a bit off. Hopefully they start giving him more mature roles in general and male lead roles.
Up until episode 9 or 10 this is an excellent drama, great cast and then it tries to put many complex issues wrapped as black and white in the last few episodes.
How do you change a system with such cruelty, whether in Korea or anywhere else in the world (Epstein list, the whatsapp chat groups of Korean men and boys sharing photos of girls,) and reduction of women and girls and boys to bodies to be trafficked and murdered. The system won't go down without a terrible war and bloodletting. (Not condoning the Villain but raising a question the drama refuses)
Boycott any drama, any writer, any company, any actors who choose to work with PEDO GROOMER MURDERERs.
Send a clear message that evil people like him do not deserve a career.
All his supporters are the worst kind of people who should be investigated (their hard drives and keep any children far far away from them). Oh and the guy posting under every comment critizing trash, may what happened to Kim Sae Ron happen to you a thousand times worse and may you never have loved ones.
Four episodes in and it has been good except as the much better reviewer wrote above they made it seem like false accusations of sexual harrassment are the true problem when in fact so many teachers have sexually harrassed students. This is the one area where the drama has utterly failed in that it majorly lets teachers and adults off the hook.
Finally finished it, after stopping in the middle when things got a bit boring and muddled. Overall this drama had a lot of potential and was a good watch. Chen Du Ling, Tian Jia Rui and Joseph and the side cast (weasel and warrior girl) were excellent and should have have more screen time. They showed such a range of emotions. Loved the battle scenes and battle music lol. Ju Jing Yi both as an actor and story wise is the weakest point, if they had cast a better actress it would have done so much better.
So about 10 episodes in and its a typical drama for this kind of story (back in time to find a new path) BUT what elevates it is the FL and ML. The chemsitry scenes are fire, I had to rewatch some of them. Beautiful FL and the ML is goddamn gorgeous.
Tian Xi Wei has my full heart, like she is beautiful, acts well with perfect expressions, and is charming. Love this drama, so far different from the cliche stories.
Finally finished and I feel a bit dissapointed. Ji Soo was fine as a pretty person traumatized by a past love. However, I still am not sure if BoD was not better than what she ended up with. Seo In Guk's real life character ignored her/treated her poorly for almost two weeks at the end? Barely responding, barely communicating. They had barely any relationship build up, nor did it make sense that he rather than Seo Kang Jun would be her ideal face\man instead of the cold office colleague who never communciates well. Especially at the end. Not even a "hey I was a bit shocked by what I saw, I need some time to process." If it were me I would understand that kind of petty ghosting to mean the relationship is over.
Like the thing that BoD shows that most women want in a relationship is someone who listens and communicates well (actually listens and remembers and says what they are thinking rather than playing games and letting misunderstandings happen). At the end of the day a TV boyfriend (which BoD seems like it was shading at times) or virtual BF is better than a shitty real life partner. So what did the drama do well? I think mostly to show her get over a past ex. Like that felt real and heart breaking.
Also really loved all the side characters (her best friend is so gorgeous and the virtual best friend from the college dating story is so gorgeous too, she keeps being paired with that fat ugly guy in dramas which sucks,).
Beautiful woman, please STOP pairing her with ugly men (like that fat guy in Boyfriend on Demand). She is Female Lead material and belongs with handsome male leads. Stop in general pairing ugly guys with beautiful women.
