Great mystery cases and plot
Hands down my favorite ancient costume mystery drama. Plot, atmosphere, characters, i devoured it. Not so heavy intrigue but not boring, predictable outcome. The ost were well placed, not too much silly comedy relief, but occasionally made you chuckled just right. Intense chinese horror element which i enjoy so much, and ✨angst✨ which i love even more. The chemistry between the three leads is just chef’s kiss—their banter and found-family vibes carried every case so well. Each mystery felt interconnected without forcing it, slowly peeling back the bigger conspiracy in a way that kept me hook. Bittersweet ending will NOT make me regret anything from this dramaWas this review helpful to you?

Stumbled on this drama from the 'bromance recs' out there
Watched it years ago and always felt this as lighter rather than heavy drama. Their bromance always tickled me, and the plot is good. Not having many memory about the ost. Chemistry is THERE. Camera work and tones are good and quite atmospheric. Cases are intriguing and solved nicely. One of my comfort watchWas this review helpful to you?

Unexpectedly like an ensemble drama
Watched it years ago, and still quite enjoying it when i rewatch it again. It's just that the ending is unforgettable that i helplessly laughed. Have many unpredictable turning point, mede it feel fresh and gripping. Love that the leads truly meant for each other, they're quite spicy yet stable mind state. Comedy gold without unnecessary filler (barely at most). STRONG chemistry with each characters, exactly why it hurts me the most. One of my dark horse in my 2023 drama listWas this review helpful to you?
Kind of similar with kdrama style makjang drama but without major spicy scene
Editing issues discussions overshadow the overall plot and character design a little bit too much, watching it after the promo truly gives a better personal experience. Given the stressful and packed nature of each episode, binge-watching it all at once felt more satisfying than watching it ongoing. The bgm is often distracting in many places at the beginning. Idk if it bcs i already too familiar with the blinding lighting in many dramas, i’m kinda used to it. They portray the characters’ actions as always shaped by how life influences them, they always have their own stance, including the villains. The villains didn’t just get a redemption arc simply because they showed a little kindness. I love how many subtle contexts are implied in various dialogues, actions, shots, and gestures. Though I thought many shots ended too quickly without giving me proper time to digest them, it gives me tiny new flavors when i rewatch it. Loveeee how the girls have their important roles until the end, and that the leads' transitions actually shows their emotional growth. I have a blast with the angstWas this review helpful to you?
my confort drama that i didn't expect at all
From the start it was a feast for the eyes with beautiful camera work and color tones that matched my preferences. In some parts there is an impression that is too melancholy and the characters speak at a slow speed almost like a whisper, some people complain about this too. I have no complaints about the OST, I really like it and still listen to it since they were released. I have to say that the characters in this drama are often misunderstood, such as Gong Shangjue who is seen as not having the courage to pursue love or Gong Ziyu whose character is limited to his stupidity. The development of each character is very interesting to me and it would be a loss if you immediately judged at the beginning of the episode. As for the ending, I think it's a common problem for all viewers hahahhahahWas this review helpful to you?
