Guys, If you want more of Payback, read the manhwa! it is so good, I promise. There were panels from the manhwa (which were my faves) that didn’t get adapted 🥹, that’s why I re-read the first half before watching the series and continued re-reading after I finished watching it! Qiuyu is a toxic and a walking red flag but I remember I watched this at the same time with Double Helix, so ZQY’s toxic level is just 10% of Lu Feng’s, so I rlly did not cared abt ZQY‘s toxicness that much before 😭 He’s also just another guy who has mother issues, thus he gets trigger (the usual anger issue, hot-temper, arrogance, says anything to the person they love that he’ll probably regret later) when it reminds him of his mother’s awful words thru out his athlete life.
Another reason why I said it reminds me of the manhwa, JINX, is becs LYE is a kind person that always get taken advantage who happens to be the Physical Therapist of the Tennis Team, and ZQY is an athlete with awful personality, arrogant, rich, selfish, toxic. Blah Blah Blah

I was gonna rate it as 7/10 (as my lowest rate, I don’t rate below 7, I will feel bad for their efforts and such) after watching the last 4 eps, becs it feels like different from the first 6 eps (or I just forgot how it goes), but I still continued watching, probably becs of the second couple, Gu Hao is so cute–his cuteness made me stay!
Anyway, it’s just like a clichè bl story where you can predict what will happen next, but it’s actually good, it probably would’ve been better if the main couple’s chemistry was on top, I feel like it lacks emotion between them? esp that their story has a lot of drama. The second couple was okay, tho it feel like they were the main, but it’s not bad, they made me stay, anyway. I read some comments below and they call it “stiff acting” (I’m sorry, I rlly dk how to judge) and I kinda agree with it. Also, it feels rushed, that’s why they were scenes that makes you think “what just happened” or whatsoever.
It’s not that it’s a “waste of your 450-minute time”, I enjoyed it nonetheless (or I just really watch everything huhu), the brother’s annoying ass made me stay as well HAHAHA I love how he makes ZQY suffer LOLS
AND there were scenes that reminds me of certain panels in the manhwa entitled JINX—I am not comparing the two, it just reminds me of some scenes in the manhwa that’s why I predicted the scenes here too.
Overall, it’s good but not the best. Again, Gu Hao made me stay! HAHA

Seeing Zhai Zilu here, reminds me of one time when he was so popular as “Cha Eunwoo” look alike, and watching this made me thought—it was few years ago but his face card never declined, and for me, he still looks like Cha Eunwoo (in some angles, ofc) HE IS JUST SO GORGEOUS!!
