no shade but how are you so bothered about this one actress when they literally all act the same in every cdrama.…
i get why you’re mentioning those modern c-dramas, but i actually tried one of them and couldn’t get past the first episode. the overall vibe was different, sure, but the female lead archetype was still very obvious to me. once i clock that pattern, i usually bow out early because i know it’s just not for me.
so for me, it’s less about not having watched enough and more about recognizing the standard the genre operates on. different aesthetics don’t always mean different character construction.
at this point it feels less like an issue with the character or the genre and more like an issue with the actress herself. because the fl here is operating within the same archetype that other modern c-dramas have used successfully and been praised for. so the criticism feels selective rather than structural.

it’s not really about how many c-dramas or genres i’ve watched. once you understand the standard a genre operates on, the patterns are pretty clear. speed and love sits in the same modern romance lane as hidden love and when i fly towards you. same genre, same expectations, and those female leads also had exaggerated cutesy traits that audiences loved.
that’s why the backlash here feels misdirected to me. the fl in speed and love isn’t doing anything fundamentally different from what the genre already allows and rewards. so the issue seems less about the character or writing, and more about people not liking this particular actress delivering the same archetype.
at that point it’s just a difference in taste, not a flaw in the drama itself.
No hate to ysx as a person in real life (disclaimer since i don't want to be jumped lol), but i really cant stand…
no shade but how are you so bothered about this one actress when they literally all act the same in every cdrama. i think you can't stand the actress and not just the character because i've never seen a cdrama where the fl isn't cheesy
