flawed, fascinating and kinda fab
I really enjoyed this. Didn't think I would but it held me, especially after all the fluff that is coming out this month. Just nice to see adults rather than high school twinkies played by older actors in silly tropes. Nobody tripped and fell into love thank God! Is it great? No, but engaging and an odd chemistry between the two leads. Not GMMTV style. They grow into each other and that becomes the earned chemistry. The twist was intriguing. No more needs to be said. The end doesn't quite jive but get why they did it that way.Just saying, give it a chance. It's very short but I think that is to its credit. No filler or fluff here.

sweet and slow
Ok. Its the same old story but told well. great visuals and sweet young actors. My only beef is the writer who hadAkira tramatized by someone in middle school saying your gay and gross. Come on. Gay, straight, female or male middles school is traumatic but we grow up and hide it or move on.
To make it the central core of this boy's inability to love or even engage? Get a spine or find your penis.

worth watching again
Its been awhile but went back to watch this. So worth it! The cast so young, and about to be future stars. Its so cinema verite, and sweet and honest. Drake deserves so much more. No wonder he left GMMTV. What GMMTV used to do in the early days before they became bloated, rich and all about their bottom line anus and gave up tellling good stories and all about skinship. And before they became the evil empire. Okay Last Twilight was their last real one.But lets not go there tonight. Sorry. They piss me off. But watch this and savor the early days ofBL. So sweet. And true.

silly, impropable and deliously sublime at times
I am a fan of Pond and Phuwin. But wasn't prepared for Pond going out on a limb like this! He is delightful and handles the over the top comedy quite well. They just click no matter what the material (and this is pretty darn good, with some minor glitches) and there is an ease now between them and the camera. I didn't know I needed a fairy tale like this, but it sure made the world a less darker place.Yes, side characters are given short shrift, especially when they are using BL actors of such calibre. The Mafia thing is a red herring and nothing really bad ever happens...even the Mafia father is....well no need to spoil that plot line.
So enjoy the sweet ride and binge on a weekend. I did as the snow was swirling outside my window but it was warm and happy in my home. Think its time to go back and rewatch NEVER LET ME GO, again!

A Chinese Bromance gone bad
Okay. Just finished watching the series...which I was enjoying for the first 30 episodes. Then it went nutso. Plot suddenly out of control, weird contrivances, overly maudlin acting and then the ending. Yes the ending is what has me up in arms. Once again two men who obviously love each other can't be allowed to be together and one of them has to die! It was so 1950's shit. And if one more person says, well its so realistic I would like to take a gun to them. China getting better????Bullshit.Was this review helpful to you?
worth the watch and rewatch
Like many other folk on this page I liked this series alot. I know some found the story weak, but I think it works, especially as a sequal which rarely do. Could it have been deeper? Yes, but that would have entailed a much longer series and I think have ruined the tone of it as a whole. Plus sequels to Taiwanese BL's are not the norm so thankful it happened at all.Cast is talented, attractive, and there is certainly chemistry there.
A shout out to Shih Chih Tian for his mesmerizing performance as Yu Zhen. Portraying a man on the spectrum without judgement, sentimentality or bathos is not easy. His work is lovely and for me, the center of the film. Wish he worked in BL world more often.
This is my second time watching and I enjoyed it more than the first time. Hope you do too.

So enjoyed this series the more I watched it and find my self going back to it like comfort food. Is it briliant?hell no. Is it lovely, you bet. It's a gem. Enjoy their odd chemistry and the premise. Just was told I need more characters! Oy!It could have been deeper but this wasnt Will Smith doing an Asimov rip off about robots like in I Robot (which Asimov would have hated that film). This actually is closer to his vision.

rewatched again and even better
I enjoyed Absolute Zero and found that it stuck in my mind over time. Sort of haunted me. So I just went back a year later to rewatch and must say it is way better than a lot of folks give it credit. Slow burn? Yes, takes it's time. Confusing at times but I get tired of the silly GMMTV cookie cutter BLs in university and bodies bouncing around with over inflated libidios and tired old BL tropes. I mean how many times can we watch the falling into a kiss gimmick; smart phones that run out of power (does no one in Asia have a charger), or the evil young woman who wants to break couples up for revenge or ego? Not saying they can't be fun (but not a steady diet), please.The age difference doesn't bother me but, yes, they could have cast an actor who looked closer to the right age and a little less angsty but it still works.
While rewatcing it without having to figure out some of the intricate plotting I was able to surrender to it and it was rewarded with a greater experience and new found appreciation for what they were trying to accomplish. If you want some fluff and fun, lots out there to watch. If you want to think a bit about the nature and complexity of loving someone, take the time to view this.

Happy I watched it
Okay yes it has flaws and the DID resolution is a medical fantasy.. But who cares? The acting is amazing, the story original and it has stuck in my heart and head for some time. Do yourself a favor. Just watch it and make your own judgement.Both of the leads give subtle performances in what could have been a bad gay version of the Three Faces of Eve. Not the typical Thai BL factory produced fare. There is real heart here. I would love to see this series continue, if only to explain the second couple who have 2 minutes of screen time. And watch the lead couples journey going forward.

Underwater Bilge
Sorry folks. I really tried but after 4 episodes of meh, feh mermaid tripe I had to shut it down. Lovely cinematography. Attractive actors who couldn't get arrested for acting if they tried and no chemistry to speak of. Not a lot new to watch this month online so was hopeful but even I have my limit. Maybe it gets better but I don't have the stomach for this underwritten, formulaic offering.Was this review helpful to you?
The best
This is without doubt one of the best BL Thrillers. Amazing on every level. If you are looking for skin go to GMMTV shit.This aint it. So fine, so important in what it is trying to examine and these actors deliver! I am still reeling from it.. Do yourself a favor and watch. Yes there are other BL's that start to examine the thriller terrain but they really go there in this one.. Tul and Max come to mind but this is head and shoulders above unless you are just looking for skin.

DONT MISS THIS INCREDIBLE JOURNEY
I know a lot of folks have reviewed this already and I am late to the game but just finished watching this series for the third time and it only gets better with each viewing. Don't normally do that (especially asit is long) but it haunts me. It is a masterpiece on so many levels. Done on a fairly small budget (for a 50 episode series) with unknowns. It is stunning to watch. The actors so on point and the screenwriter and director were masterful in evading Chinese censorship! A BL it came from and they convey it through delicate but clear nuance. This is a great love story and tale. Others have said it better. Just watch and let it unfold in all its humanity, storytelling prowess and emotional power. Every actor is perfect. And if the tale of Wen Ning as played by Yu Bin doesnt break your heart then you might want to see a cardioligist!Was this review helpful to you?
what a boring waste of time
was excited by the other reviews. So I watched. Instead I found bad lakorn writing, directing, stand and deliver stuff with stiff postures with pretty boys but stupid acting. So over the top boring. Subtle like a box of rocks. I mean really. The woman playing Pin was the only good actor in it. Really why do folks like this kind of stuff where there are so many good BL series out there?Was this review helpful to you?
Where's the beef?
Sorry I tried, but finally had to give up. The lead character is such a spineless nothing who can't even keep a work calendar going, let alone deal with a past boyfriend when he is 30. And not even sexy to boot! Nice filmwork but boring as all get out. Love Japanese BL, this isn't one of them. Guess I have to write more comments or they won't post.Wanted to like this, adult characters always a plus, but again the lead is so not intersting. Just whiny and lost. Maybe it gets better but not going to wait around for that.

a brilliant gem from 2017
Long before Kinn/Porche, or Not Me, we have this 90 minute, lower budget series that doesn't look cheap, amazing piece of work. Don't be put off by it being older. It is the real deal. It is violent and subtle all at the same time. Twists and turns and just great fun. The performances by everyone involved so well done. I can't believe I have missed this!
