that unspoken bond between the sisters that warms the heart
It's like a 3D Ghibli film lol. Truly Koreeda's gem. No unnecessary dramas, just pure human emotions, relationships, highlighting the sisterhood of four girls. It offers insights into Japanese life and customs, and the cinematography is very pleasing to the eyes. All the casts are great. Not only they were beautiful and great in acting but they made it look like they weren't even acting at all. Hirose Suzu's acting here also got praised by THE Bong Joon Ho. No wonder it won the Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the Year in 2016 and was selected to compete for the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. I keep on watching at least once a month and will never get tired of it. Truly a masterpiece. Must watch. Was this review helpful to you?
NOT YOUR TYPICAL HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA
Out of all the high school dramas I have watched, I could say this one's my favorite. Literally not your typical high school drama. Not gonna lie I expected a little romance there but I think it was fine as it was. More focused on friendships and unity. It may seem too idealistic but I liked it that way. I also loved the casts, they are all great. I was also looking forward to seeing Suzu Hirose as it was her first lead drama and well, she never disappoints. Not to mention that she was still 17 here. Also started admiring Kamiki Ryuosuke through this drama.Literally worth the watch!

THIS DRAMA IS GOLDEN
The first few episodes already got me ugly crying. To be honest I was only watching this because of Suzu Hirose but I loved all the characters and casts! The little Natsu made cried real hard damn that kid's acting is superb I love it so much. That time when grandpa started warming her heart towards Natsu made me feel kinda emotional. It is heartwarming and has lots of life lessons to offer. It's still a long way before I finish watching it but I know already from the first episode that it's gonna be worth it. A total gem.Was this review helpful to you?
