A romantic supernatural thriller done right

After watching hundreds of dramas I finally went back to one of my first dramas to see if it really was as good as I remembered it. It was! It’s now 2020 and this drama from 2013 is still quite fresh and surprisingly modern. The clothes are quite nice and the cinematography is really good. I can’t believe it’s an older drama.

The female lead can see ghosts which terrifies her. And the male lead is the only person who has ever been able to get rid of them for her by her just touching him. I know the storyline seems a bit unbelievable and very cliche. But the acting is extremely good. And the underlying message of accepting yourself and being the best you can be under your circumstances comes through brilliantly.

I like that the second male lead is nice and never creates trouble. And the cute clumsy second female lead isn’t too bad either. The drama is driven by the different stories involving helping various ghosts, figuring out the culprit behind the male leads childhood kidnapping, and the female lead dealing with her ability to see ghosts. There’s just a tad bit of office politics and family issues but it doesn’t take center stage. There's angst but not too much, there’s sadness but not for long, there’s several cute couples, and there’s lots of cute romantic moments.

Its not a super deep melodrama, nor is it a romcom. It’s a romance driven drama with lots of supernatural stuff, a kidnapping/murder mystery and it has lots of character growth. Overall it’s an enjoyable watch with a good romance and an interesting plot. I’d definitely recommend it.
