Also, I know he's been through a lot, and I'm not ignoring his past. But having trauma doesn't automatically excuse the way he treats the FL. There were so many other ways to handle things. He keeps hurting her, and I just can't overlook that. A few sad looks and emotional scenes aren't enough to suddenly make me root for him. He just isn't my kind of ML.

This is probably a hot take, but I'm almost at the end of this drama and I still can't get behind ML.
I've been trying to understand him, but the more I watch, the less I like him. I honestly can't see what FL sees in him. He's cold, keeps everything to himself instead of communicating honestly, and aside from a few small moments, I just don't feel the love from his side. She cried because of him so many times that it honestly became hard for me to believe she'd keep going back to him.
The worst moment for me was when he lashed out at her at work in front of their colleagues. He humiliated her just because he was jealous and didn't even bother to find out the truth first. Once again, it all came down to his complete lack of communication. How can he be angry when he's the one who pushed her away? He's a very unlikeable character to me. Sure, he's charismatic, but he behaves like an idiot. Even if the last episodes are packed with romantic scenes, I don't think they'll convince me that this is the swoon-worthy romantic male lead everyone seems to adore.

You’re right! The way they changed it in the drama is really well written. In the novel, I hated that she lived on her own the whole time, overcame so many obstacles, and even stood up for herself when it came to SA. But as soon as the ML appeared, she completely fell apart and suddenly wasn’t able to form even her own thoughts. I hated that. She seemed pathetic to me. In the drama, she’s confident, and that’s great.

I thought the same thing. Honestly, I’m glad that at least she is confident. I don’t want to see her begging him.

I’m glad you’re saying this! I feel the same way. Honestly, the scenes in the novel where she sleeps with him for the first time felt really wrong to me, and he became a huge red flag. Overall, compared to the drama, ML feels much more possessive in the novel, and I didn’t really feel the love there? FL annoyed me even more because she just let all of this happen. In my opinion, it’s completely okay to say NO when it comes to your own body, even if you feel guilty about certain things. And it’s also okay not to accept everything someone wants from you. I really hope they improve this in the drama, because so far they’re doing a much better job with the characters. I can feel the love between them more, and both of them are written with much better behavior overall. I just hope they don’t make him into a massive red flag.

Well, this plot was also in the novel. It was stupid even there. Like, is there really no other way to show that he’s afraid of heights because of his mother’s death?

Not only was he a playboy, but he was also pretty rough with her. Throughout the novel, I mostly saw him as possessive, which made it hard for me to buy into the idea that he actually loved her (like I know he did, but it was just based on possessivnes). It got even worse after they reunited years later. The way he treated her was awful.

One thing I like about the drama is that he's much softer. The female lead is better too. In the novel, she was very passive and a major people-pleaser. In the drama, she knows what she's doing and feels much more independent and true to herself.
