Yeah finished the whole drama yesterday but the novel version is better. The drama made quite a number of changes from the original novel making it a bit haphazard trying to stitch up the whole story....also the snipping of the integral part that showed the FL accidently hugging the brother thinking it was the ML and the emotional response from the brother should have been included. Then we can get a clearer picture of why the brother is dead against her relationship with the ML and why he does not show interest in other girls or to get married. Also the part where the witch nearly caused the ML's death by getting him framed for treason while he was in the army and sabotaging his career.....the why the straw that broke the camel's back leading to FL finally making a firm stand against the mother and breaking ties with her family. Nah, the old witch has nothing to do with the hydrogen cyanide leak....just some random industrial accident caused by the worker's negligence on turning on or off the main switch on the gas pipeline....think something like that.....

I guess earthquake is easier to film as compared to flood, volcano eruption, tropical storm or landslide.....easier to access broken, abandoned buildings and shooting is much easier without all the distraction of crowd control, moving traffic, bustling cities. Other natural disasters need a lot of capital injected into its production to make it realistic...just my 2 cents' worth of opinion....

I think it was more to appease the brother than to act against him as she is now staying in the fire station and working together with SY everyday. She knows her brother is against her relationship with SY and may spill the beans on her to their tyrant mum therefore her inability to protest. Besides, the word "thrash" was spoken as referring to the junk food and taking it literally, it is not supposed to be offensive. If she protest, she may also be afraid that it may hurt SY more directly.....so it is to protest or not to protest and knowing her docile demeanor within her family, she will prefer to play safe than to be sorry. That is my take.....

Correct, "incestuous" is not applicable in this case as they are not blood related but that was how the tyrant mum implied to her children when they became too closed. Hence the insistence of making XY to change her surname to the "Meng" family and put her name into their family record, snuffing out MYC's romantic feelings for XY.

I don't think the mother especially will accept the relationship between XY and MYC as they have been living together as siblings and it would be considered an incestuous union. To avoid this happening, she insisted on the adoption and the change of surname from Xu to Meng to nip their budding relationship. She is strict, regimented and a stickler to rules. Besides she has been looking for a suitable match for both children to up the family's status and economics. So XY is reserved for only eligible and compatible suitors according to her standards.

Yes, a little bit draggy at times and the cooperation between the hospital team n the fire brigade need not be so detailed.....maybe trying to highlight more on the ML and his positive characteristics and looks but it ends up making the FL looks petty and spoiled.....we already knows she has emotional attachment and insecurity issues with the ML due to her past experiences and fears.

If you read the novel u will understand why she behaves in this way. Her psychological problems were festered since young under her tyrannical foster mother using threats, fear, with holding love and care. She is like a trapped animal trained by an animal trainer to obey, behave and do tricks as instructed. She fears getting sent away back to the orphanage, being unloved, or abandoned, hence making her just obediently follows what her parents demand of her. The psychological trauma of her parents constant bickering, burning to death, her foster family's rigid rules and expectations caused her to have OCD...wringing her hands, constantly washing her hands, etc.

I agree that the FL and the ML in Lie to Love seems to lack chemistry. The FL is a little stilted in her acting.....she was acting better in Falling Into Your Smile.....

You should if you want to know how a psychologist using different kinds of therapy approaches to counsel his/her clients......quite an eye opening experience and also the cases shown in this drama are familiar happenings we see around us, e.g., work place bullying, sexual exploitation, suicidal tendencies, post-natal depression, eating disorder, PSTD, etc....all my friends agreed that it is an interesting and mind engaging drama.....

I thought so, too but the first tea drinking psychologist who also happened to be the FL's mother consultant psychologist is Wen Liang while Janine Chang is her younger sister, Wen He. She came in at 30.00 min of playtime in Ep 31, as an invited guest psychologist for a rival radio programme, speaking on sexual assault in campus.
